An LGS I went to yesterday had 3 Springfield Range Officers. Two had the standard sights and were about $900. One had ambi safeties and night sights for about $930. Are these good 1911's? Are those fair prices in today's screwed up market?

I was at a shop in Loveland, CO today and looked at a Springfield RO throught the glass. It was $819. If memory serves me right it had an adjustable BoMar rear sight on it.

Ambi safety RO??? I thought they ditched them for price. Not much difference between them and the TRP.

Love mine but that price is more than I'd pay. I haven't been shopping in a while so that may be the norm nowadays. I remember when I was shopping last summer, I saw prices for around $800 give or take a bit. I got mine for a steal...it's great to be in the right place at the right time!

I have never seen an RO with ambis, but then, I haven't seen everything

Oakster, I believe it was your, dare I say it...Kimber, that inspired the digi-pattern grips. Don't you have a Desert Warrior?

Excellent 1911, heres mine and only 750 OTD. But I've had it for a while. Night sights and ambis are not a part of a factory RO. Check Springfields web sight. It will give you all the technical data on the gun.

While i agree, everyone that's saying they saw or paid less, lives in a different state. Even Buds guns is out of stock. If he wants it and can get it, i say go for it. Maybe it's just me, but i'd pay the extra hundred to have it.

Prices are a little high but the Range Officer is a great 1911. It is by far my most accurate 1911.

My RO is my favorite gun. Big, heavy and deadly accurate. Mine was 739otd about a year ago. Great fit and finish too

Looked at Springfield website. The one with night sights must have been a Loaded.

Looked at an RO today at the LGS for about $750, so the price there is just a little high. :whistling:
