According some of the guy's on another forum, it's not a TRP frame.

A couple has asked who did the work, but there is no reply.

Well, the TRP frame is pretty much just a forged IMBEL frame.

However, the dust cover is certainly different from my TRP. It may just be an older model, as there are no front cocking serrations either. The older models had a squared off dust cover.

That thing is an abomination though. Obviously, someone stupid enough to do that to an otherwise great 1911, isn't embarrassed enough to try to sell it.

I think I'm going to send him a message. :whistling:

...what a tool this guy must be. :faint:

What's even more funny, is that he still calls it the "FBI" model.

bac1023
03-06-2013, 09:45
I just sent him the message below. I doubt I'll get a reply. ;)

I honestly can't believe somebody could do that to a TRP.

You totally destroyed the gun's value. I hope your reserve is low. Basically, the only thing left of value is the older TRP forged frame. The rest is scrap.

You have given some of us a good laugh on the forums though...

glock2740
03-06-2013, 10:05
Well, afetr getting responses from the seller that said it was a true TRP after I questioned the frame, I made a littl call to SACS and gave them the serial number listed on the frame on GB. Turns out it is a Parkerized Loaded built in June 2000. I sent the seller this information and advised to update his listing. That's what I'm thinking too. Anyone that sees a 1 lb. trigger pull as a good thing would see that thing as an improvement. Didn't he also reply to you that it was a gunsmith's:whistling: gun? Add the cost of a new TRP and whatever they charge to do that work and that's probably his reserve.

If he is now aware that it's frankengun and still hasn't changed the decription, not only is he an idiot but lacks integrity.

Piss poor combination in a person.

Yep

I don't mind people trying to overcharge on GB if the description is right. After that, its the buyer's fault.

However, improper representation of an item is very poor indeed. I blasted some clown really bad a few years ago for trying to sell a Springfield TGO2 as a TGO1. I told him to change the description or I'd report him. He changed it very soon there after.

I don't remember if he changed the price or not, but the price wasn't my issue. It was the incorrect description. If someone wants to try to get a TGO1 price for a TGO2, more power to them. People can ask whatever they want and the item can sit there for a year and not sell. Just don't describe it as a TGO1.

glock2740
03-06-2013, 20:19
I strongly agree Brian. Some poor sucker might would buy this. But there is no mistake on his part, as I asked specifically if that was a TRP frame, as it doesn't look like one and I was 99% sure it wasn't. His response was that it was indeed a TRP frame. That's when I decided to call SACS and check it out. Once I found out what it really was I let him know. I gave him the benefit of having bought something that he wasn't aware of. Only after I sent him the scoop on it from SACS, did he start returning other questions with this information. To me, that is pure and total BS on his part. The ad needs to be removed. It's past the point of changing IMO. This whole " cluster*******" is on three different forums that I know of.

The slide is/was a TRP slide, but it's the frame that 's in question.

The gun is an abomination and should not be sold, as far as I'm concerned. If it is sold, it needs to be correctly represented. It was never a TRP. It's a horribly done mismatch of parts.

I would lay a bet the gun is nothing more than a parts gun. If one could only see the serial number. I believe the FBI pistols has a special serial number.

The grips, trigger, mainspring housing, and mag release are all wrong. Not to mention the butchered and poorly fit grip safety. This gun is and abortion.

This guy is a RIOT

[Information added 3/7/2013 5:41:16 AM]
This is not the FBI model. This is has everything TRP. The lower was customized and has custom grip as well as trigger and slide. It was all done by a 30 year gunsmith. This gun was built to perform and outshoot and others. This gun will shoot better than your 1911. Please to all you crazy gun guys I buy guns to shoot them and make them perform better not sit on a shelf so please leave me alone about the slide. Don't knock it till you try it

bac1023
03-07-2013, 06:58
Its pretty funny indeed

Its just a parts gun. It never started life as a TRP. Its just a crazy concoction built in someone's shop or garage.

That's fine, but don't try to sell it as something its not. Despite what was said above, this is everyone's business. This is not a private sale. Its a public auction.

He never replied back when I told him it wasn't a TRP frame.

Someone selling a gun on an auction site is YOUR business? I've sold plenty of firearms there, is it MY business also??

Seems you have a hard time not following Bac around eh? Seems you are very concerned about what Bac does or what he doesn't like.

Now when someone puts their firearm out on an auction site and acts like a used car salesman then then open themselves up for ridicule. Especially when they flat out lie about the gun through concealment or ignorance.

Let's see now, flipper is an expert at whatever he does to 1911s and then selling them.

He is almost affronted that someone is making fun of this stupid bit of home gunsmithing ,and attempting to pawn it off as if it were expertly done

You don't suppose.....?....

I don't think Flipper owns a mill, haven't seen him post that higher level of pistolsmith work yet.

It's not just the stupid bit of home gunsmithing, but the lies the seller has told. I asked him why the frame wasn't a TRP frame? He said in an response email that it was. I told him the SN, per Springfield, was from a parkerized Loaded frame. He denied that, but then told others who enqired, that it wasn't a TRP frame. Guy is just being outright untrue on several levels. And I can't imagine how dangerous the 1 pound trigger job must be. Good thing is, I doubt anyone buys it. At least not on GB. Sad part is, some poor sucker is probably gonna buy it in a FTF transaction.

Yeah, if someone wants to make an abomination of a 1911 out of a bunch of parts, that's their business, but don't try passing it off as something it's not.

That's just trying to rip somebody off.

Bear in mind, "We" have a "moral" objection to someone trying to rip the unsuspecting buyer off and some of us are offended by that because we have a certain amount of pride in being responsible when it comes to all facets of guns ownership and use, buying and selling.

"Moral", "pride" and such words are verboten in the liberal lexicon. They lead to "judgments" and those are horrible deadly weapons in the hands of anyone who isn't a liberal.

Here we have a pretty darned good pistol screwed up by a clown who is trying to profit from his foolishness. He should have to take responsibility for his bad decision and not try and profit from it by making someone else pay for it. Ooops, there is another verboten word "responsibility"

The gunsmith who enhanced the performance of the gun 10 fold has been a gunsmith for 30 years. Looks dont mean **** to people who buy guns to shoot them and not just let them sit. The gun has been used in competions and hunting and for just target shooting. Dont like the scope put your own sites on it. Why must everyone worry so much about what other people do to there guns. If you know anything about lightened slides you would know what the positives are. I cant believe so many of you crazy gun guys care what others do to there guns. I would bet my life you could not match the holes up so perfect as they are on this and would not be able to find someone who could. Anyone who would buy that piece of garbage would have to have as horrible taste in 1911's as the idiot who "created" it. He would also have to be as ignorant. And he probably wouldn't even have a clue as to what a TRP is.
If it was a close copy of a TRP I'd be as upset as anyone, but it should be clearly junk to anyone who has even picked up a 1911.
And if someone is that tasteless and ignorant to bid on that garbage, they deserve it. $600 is a cheap education. I spent $3000 for my Nighthawk education.

Someone might buy it thinking they would have a TRP frame, with front strap checkering and all. That's not the case.

Regardless how bad the pistol is, it still needs to be described correctly. I agree someone would be nuts to pay $600 whether its started life as a TRP or not, but they don't deserve to get screwed over by this jackass.

I'm amused by the actions of a bunch of grown men, no concerned.

I don't think anything of the misrepresentation nor care. Its none of my business as it's not my sale. Some idiot will overpay it and perhaps enjoy shooting it.

100% acceptable with GB and with me

Fraud and lies are just that, fraud and lies.
You can either decry them as decent men should
or
you can endorse them by taking a side with fraud or by not taking a side at all.

Black and white, there is no middle ground on the subject of integrity

Comfort yourself however it helps you sleep at night, but in then end, you are of the choices you make.

THIS is why I love GT 1911 Forum!

I mean just read the quote and put it into the context of a firearm auction ......as somehow a sale of a firearm from one adult to another could have an effect on my integrity! My God.

I will sleep quite well even knowing some idiot will overpay for that ventilated 1911.

May I ask good Sir Daniel what you have done to be a decent man and try somehow to prevent this travesty of fraud and lies from continuing not one moment sooner?? I do what you to sleep well also.

You integrity is on the position you take and has little or nothing to do with the actual auction.

Hey I "warsh" everyday and I still know he is an idiot! He did say he didn't want any more comments on how we unwarshed think about his modifications. It was for performance and it will out perform any thing we have. His words. If true we will be seeing all the top guns using them.:whistling:

SHHHH According to Flipper you are not allowed to say that.

You re not supposed to point out when someone is misrepresenting their product. You are not supposed to question someone's honesty and character when you know for a fact that they are lying. You are not to publicly state that someone is being deceitful and misleading people,

you are supposed to vote for them for POTUS.
