So my wife and I were driving home from the store and about 2 miles from home there was some water on the road due to rain, but I could see the curbs and it was no big deal - just drive slowly.

Then we saw the car in front of us started making waves so we stopped and started to back up: the water rose very fast.. We couldn't back up any further, it was deeper behind us.

So we pulled over. When the water rose above the curbs, we pulled onto the median. Then the water kept rising, all the way until water started entering our car. We have to collect our things and bail, when we opened the door, water rushed in.

As you can see, we weren't in a suspiciously low lying area: it just rose fast. We were waiting it out on the median, watching other cars do something stupid and get flooded. We just couldnt wait any longer, without doing anything stupid, we just ran out of luck.

Looks like I'm getting a new car soon! Insurance agent called it a total loss due to the electronics being saturated and the interior getting flooded (we stopped the car before the engine flooded).

Deepest water we walked through was about 3' deep, after about 2-3 hours of rain, the nearby bayou overflowed and there was nowhere for the water to go but up.

ITS STILL RAINING! Heavy since 3pm, Flash Flood warning until 1am in Richmond. With all the lightening/thunder booming away sounds like an artillery barrage.

Raining and thundering like hell up here in Kingwood, too, but nothing like what you're going through! Good luck!

So sorry! Usually, when Texas gets bad storms, they come through here first; no rain for weeks in AZ...

KPRC just showed the weather radar, and it looks like heavy rain all night.

Considering I got caught in a ghetto area, I'm assuming my car has already been broken into.

I only left a few non-important things, other then my work ID and NASA contractor ID, I hope it's safe, but the odds are not in my favor.

I'm sure those folks in the "$99 move-in special" apartments won't bother it...:whistling:

I was driving north bound 59 heading to i45 to get to Spring. it started down pouring in that traffic.. as usual, when it rains you can't see the lane dividers lol. luckily, didn't encounter any flooding.
