To enlighten the UFC had a ppv tonight and Roy "Big Country" Nelson who's a big ol country boy knocked out this big, chiseled black fighter who everybody thought was gonna kill Nelson. Hit em with a right to the jaw and dropped him. I watched it at a bar tonight with co-workers and the place went nuts.

I think Nelson was a heavy favorite to win that fight. Nobody that follows MMA really gave Kongo much of a chance, especially since his chin has become suspect.

I don't know if Roy will ever contend for the title. He makes a hell of a gatekeeper though.

That guy looks like a fat out of shape joke yet he keeps knocking good fighters out. I love it.

Roy Nelson is one of the best heavyweights right now. He deserves a title shot. I think he would give Cain or Junior fits. I had no doubt that he'd beat Congo.

Looks can be deceiving when it comes to fighting ability. See Fedor Emelianenko. He was one of the all time greats. He looks like an overweight construction worker!

Not everybody. I would have bet the house on Nelson.

That's a crazy weird punch but it looks completely intentional and like he knows exactly what he's doing.

could have been a Jaw shot but I think it was more of a Brachial Plexus shot, Kongo went down quickly but looked like he would recover, then Big Country dropped a bomb to the face and Kongo was out, Roy knew it and held up after that, Referee jumped in and it was over.

Roy has some heavy hands...

Agreed. Congo has a very suspect chin, I pretty much figured it would end by way of overhand right to the jaw.

It's what you would use against a taller opponent. The over hand right. Time it to the kick and you can close the distance very quickly.

By the way, he's no slouch on the ground either...far from it. He's got good cardio too.

Kongo = French
Nelson = American

Any questions?

Hmmm... I guess now BC can't say he never looked to take the smile from anybody's face. I'd say he took the smile from CK's face pretty effectively.

But, on the bright side for Kongo, just because it happened doesn't mean he's been discarded.

Hopefully he can pull his head up off the floor. :rollingeyes:

Nobody thinks Kongo can kill anyone, Big country was a big favorite and did what most people expected him to do.

I think Nelson was favored to win also. People that don't watch MMA might take a look at the match and think Kongo was gonna waste Nelson. Although I like Stefan Struve I like Nelson too. Struve is a 7 footer and Nelson knocked him out the same I believe.

I agree, I wouldn't mind seeing Big Country be the champ one day. I think he can do it!! Hope he gets a title shot or at least a shot at the co-main event winner of next UFC.

He fought junior, he got pummeled pretty good. He didn't go down though. Still pretty one sided.

Yes he did. I just don't think Junior would be able to do that again.

Yeah I don't watch much UFC anymore. I kept up with it when Couture, Liddell, Ortiz and Matt Hughes were all in their prime. I still watch a ppv with friends time to time.

Why not?

Because he is a more well-rounded fighter, and I think he'd have a better game plan next time. I think he is capable of putting the same type of beating on Junior as Cain did.
