Original was better, but they did a good job with this one for sure.

At least they kept the original cast characters names in the new one. That was pretty cool

For a remake it was ok. They hit some minor areas I felt bad were missed in orig. You have to suspend belif to enjoy it.

The original was better because it was "original". The new one is better with all the cooler guns.

And why is it that the black mayor had to be the betrayer? I thought that Hollywood is all through with stereotyping black people as the bad guys?

Wasn't the mayor Hispanic in the original movie? Also Danny wasn't black in the original.... :-)

I didn't like it. All I could think about was that idiot played in Drake and Josh. Why in the heck did they cast him in Red Dawn.

Wow. The new one must REALLY be garbage, if it isn't even as good as the original.

Because the original movie is pretty damn lame.

If you watched the the original when it first came out, it was pretty darn good for the times. Now, watching it I would have to agree with you.

It felt like an abridged version. It could have been good but fell short.

It took me 3-4 days and 7-8 showers to wash the stupid off me that Red Dawn 2012 contaminated me with... Vapid, uninspired and boring. One of my worst movie ever picks.

I read the book so I'm interested.... I can wait for rotten tomatoes to rate it first.

Yeah, the original was one of those had to be there things. We were at cold war with the Soviets, and if they or their pawns attacked us we were gonna go all Lake Placid over them with a bunch of freedom loving kids defeating their hardened soldiers.

Wolverine!

Agreed 100%. I have found several of political corrections in the remakes; thumb down!

I actually liked it. If you go into a remake expecting it to be like the original you are going to be disappointed. Watch a movie for its own sake and enjoy it/or not for what it is. Don't condemn it because it isn't like the original. As far as suspending belief, you have to it's a movie.

It could have been better of course. The guy that played Matt Eckard isn't much of an actor. The actress that played his girlfriend didn't have much of a role to work with, plus I'm really tired of the fake blonde bimbo look. The other girl made up for it in my opinion.

From the previews, World War Z the movie will have nothing in common with the book except the name.

Cuz Tom Cruise's kid played his son.
