I've been watching the TV show Revolution over the past 2 seasons. In the latest part of the story line, they've reintroduced the "US" government, which came back from Cuba after a couple of warring factions in the states were decimated.

I started watching the show to see what take Hollywood would have on a storyline about a potential future without electricity. It's all been pretty interesting until now. The "government" that came back does not seem to be a government by and for the people. I'm fine with the story line, but they seem to go out of their way to call themselves "patriots." I pretty much read it as a dig on the real patriots in this world today. The ones that know Obama is a socialist and wants to destroy America.

Just wondering if I should flush the show and realize that Hollywood is Hollywood.

Yep, hit the handle. Even Walter White was cast as a liberal. Those liberal pinko Hollyweird writers can sure muck up a good script.

What is not to believe?

PhD from CiT. Nobel prize. School teacher.

Fits the profile.

Totally believable, as was the gradual change from mild mannered family man to harcore drug kingpin as the reality of death and the lure of money and power infected him.

Revolution is the stupidest show I've ever seen. Stupid premise, garbage writing. Just imitigable crap.

Yep. I watched most of one episode and thought it was childish - on par with "Firefly" that so many nerds love.

Words are often meant to deceive or to lure us.

Everybody is canning and selling patriotism these days. One day I expect to see Patriot Brand toilet paper at my local mart, it would probably sell better than the Jihad Branded stuff in my neighborhood.

As a cynic whenever I hear of the many super patriots pronouncing and preening I recall "Patriotism is the last refuge of a scoundrel" : Samuel Johnson.

Trust, but verify.
