Holster for G30 w/ Meprolight sights

I was at one of the local gun shops w/ my new 30 yesterday and I wanted an OWB holster (mainly to have someplace to stick the gun while on the range vs laying it down).

I had read / heard good things about Fobus and was trying one of them and my 30 wouldn't fit it. Tried another brand kydex and same problem - the Meprolight front sight is too tall for these holsters.

My question is - is anybody else using this front sight and if so - what holster are you using ??

I ended up with a nylon "fits all" job for now but that not what I want for long term so any and all suggestions are welcome.


Side note - drilled my first 100 rnds at the range and I am sooo in love w/ this gun. 3 clicks of elevation and she was dead on (or at least as close to it as I can manage without some more practice ;) )

The Sideamor holsters leave enough space in the sight channel for even tall Bo-Mar front sights.;)

BTW - saw some of the shots from GSSF in Richmond. I was hoping to come up and “spectate” a little bit but unfortunately I had other pressing jobs to attend to.

Do you know of any place around Roanoke that does any kind of matches right now (even friendly "pick up" matches) ?? I'm not really good enough to be competitive yet, but I guess I have to start somewhere / sometime.

I carry my G-30 in a Galco Fletch, and I carry 8 to 12 hours a day. It is a good piece of leather. I guess that I am old fashioned, but the newer stuff, just doesn't have the feel of leater..

I went to purchase a new gun yesterday so I could slip it in my pocket and ended up with a new holster for my 30!!:) I wear shirt and tie all week 10 hrs a day and purchased a galco 2nd ammendment. It is unbeleavable. You would never know it was there. Just my opinion.
