I've been told that, with the right recoil reduction system, the 357 glock has only a little more recoil than the 9mm. Is this true? I would like a little more power than a 9mm, but I'm afraid that I'll spend the money on a 357 and won't be able to get rapid follow ups like I can with a 9mm. Any observations or info?

I can make faster double-taps with my G31 the I can a G17.

As far as recoil reduction systems, I have no experience with them so I cannot say anything good or bad about them. Would I install one on my pistol? No, I see no need to.

YMMV

Dead man I could not have said it better myself.
The G31 just seems to fall right back on target and has a rapid slide movement that I like.

I've been thinking about whether to buy a G19 or G32....I'm just coming back to Glocks, and it's great to hear that the 357 variety is a shooter.....my only concern is the longevity. Do they really poop out quick?

I bought a 32 several months ago and it has totally replaced my G17. I find it more accurate and just as easy to shoot. The ammo can be pricey, but if you shoot a lot, then it's not that bad when you buy in bulk from someone like Georgia Arms.

Personally, the 32 is the Glock for me. I think the bark of the 357 scares a lot of people off, but it is really not a hard load to control at all.

I would like to see if this was verified by a shot timer with split times. I love the 357 sig but the simple fact is more power equates to more recoil and muzzle flip which equates to slower split times. If your truly faster with your 31 there is something wrong with your technique or you have whats called researchers bias. You want the 31 to shoot faster than the 17 so you make it so in your hands.

I can get a timer for a day if anyone wants to loan me a G17 to test that theory.

I can assure you my technique is fine. :)

As far as bias, bring an impartial friend or two. I'd really like to give it a try on the clock with other shooters.

Drop by one of our matched in Chambersburg sometime. We have several shooters from WV.

I installed the Sprinco stainless steel guide rod/spring system in my G19 & G32 (the same guide rod) and my G26 & G33 (also the same guide for both of these).

It does reduce the muzzel flip slightly, and does allow faster follow up shots, at least for me.
