Has anyone tried a plus 2 base on their mag yet. If so, does it increase the way it should? Just wondering ;f

Highly illegal for just 1 extra round. ;f

Unless you are LE...

Oh, I wasn't thinking about being legal. Plus I wasn't thinking of actual use. I was thinking forward to the hope of us being able to get standard cap mags again. I was wondering if this would be possible to do. Not that anyone would do anything illegal..

Hailstorm,

The G37 mag capacity is 10 rounds for both civilian and law enforcement use. Has to due with physics and available space, not any law.

L.E.O's can of course add the #7151 base for an extra round or two.

Thats what I was getting at. Thanks Dan. ;)

The "7151" base will only allow 1 extra rd, so yes it is possible. If they were to remove the ribs from inside the mag you should be able to get 1 maybe 2 more inside the stock mag? We will just have to wait and see.....

So there is ribs in there as well? This could be nice. So if the ban goes away, we may have 12 to 13 rounds to look forward to .

Hailstorm,

You dont's seem to understand. If the mags would function without the strengthening ribs, there would already be a L.E. hi cap mag available, but there isn't. You can't get but 10 rounds of .45GAP in a G17 sized magazine. You can only get 13 rounds in the huge, oversized G21 magazine. It's really simple. More will not fit.

The ribs are not there for strength. They are there to limit the amount of rounds that it holds. So if the ban lifts, out go the ribs and then its a option to have a extention put on. If you look at every standard cap mag, you will not find ribs. I don't know who told you its for strength or to reenforce the walls. So I stand by what I said before.
If the ban lifts, then we may have a gun that has 12 to 13 rounds in the mag. From the ribs being in the mag now. This tells me that you could probly get 11 rounds in it without the ribs. So then add the extention and you may get 1 to 2 more in there. Thats what I am saying. There would be no way in the world I would do this before the ban lifts.

I give up. Dream on. Keep in mind that if Glock could have fit 1 more round into that magazine it would have made a great selling point for L.E. adoption.

Bob,

At least you can still claim to own a brain. Of all the things I've lost, I miss my mind the most.;g

The ribs are for restriction of rounds, not strength. Otherwise all the mags including the Standard cap ones would have them as well. So to say they are needed for strength doesn't make sense.I guess I better toss all my 17 round g17 mags, my 13 round G21 mags, my 15 round G20 mags ,because none of them have those ribs. They are waiting to blow apart. ;Q
As for them not offering LEO mags holding 11 rounds. Well, the gun just came out. They had enough problems doing that. Give Glock time and maybe they will. So in the end we are talking about a 12 round mag with extention. If all goes well. If you don't understand my point, thats ok. I won't say that your stupid. We all look at things differently. Thanks for everyones input.

First off I don't have much interest in this no Glock to begin with, and don't know very much about it. That being said, I would be VERY surprised if Glock COULD make a mag greater than 10 rounds and didn't for LEO's. Springfield .40 XD was not around before the ban and LEO 12 round mags are available. ALSO just being an LEO doesn't mean that you can manufacture a hi cap which is what you would be doing if you could put a +1 or +2 extension on a G 37 mag, even if you are a LEO. I would be breaking the law just as anyone else would if I did this. Just because you can possess them doesn't mean you can make them. I don't agree with the law and hopefully in a year we won't be having these stuped discussions, but that doesn't make it less illegal now.
