1 9 inch unbaked pie shell
1 c sugar
1/2 tsp salt
2 T melted butter
1/2 c karo(dark)
1/2 c heavy cream( whipping cream)
1 tsp vanilla
1/4 c brandy
1 1/2 c pecan halves
in a mixing bowl beat eggs, sugar,salt, butter, karo and cream
stir in vanilla, brandy and pecans. Pour into pie crust and bake at 350 for 40-50 minutes, or until filling is set and crust is golden brown.

BOURBON PECAN PIE
1 unbaked 9 inch pie crust
1 cup dark corn syrup
1 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1/3 cup butter, melted
1 tsp vanilla extract
pinch salt or to taste
1 ½ cups pecans (whole, chopped or mixed)
2 to 3 tbs Bourbon
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line a 9 inch pie plate with crust. In a mixing bowl, blend eggs, corn syrup, brown sugar, butter, vanilla, and salt until well mixed. Stir in pecans and bourbon, pour into pie crust. Bake 55 to 60 minutes until filling is set at the edges, but still a little soft in the center. Cool pie on rack. Serve with dollops of sweetened whipped cream (flavored with bourbon, if desired).
I have a number of friends from the South, they cannot believe that a damned yankee can make a pie that is this good! My son's boyscout troop has a pie auction every fall and the least that this pie has ever sold for at auction is $24! Try it, you will be hooked.
