View Full Version : what's youre favorite fish
I was in a fish debate last night and was wondering what fish you eat the most of and how is it done?
Here's my top fish;
#1 salmon, baked or smoked
#2 dophlin, grilled or fired
#3 shark,fried ( not technically a fish but )
#4 talipa, fried or boiled
#5 cod, fried or boiled
#6 halibut, baked
#7 swordfish, grilled or smoked
1. Trout
2. Haddock
3. Swordfish
For chowder, I like Hake or Pollock.
Carribean Red Snapper.
True Red Snapper, not that West Coast imitation Red Rock fish that alot of places sell as Snapper!
Salmon and Tuna (steaks not cans) are my favorites.

I love:
Chilean Sea Bass
Orange Roughy
Sea Trout
Tuna (raw)
Salmon
knuckle dragger

Stuffed Sole
Orange Roughy
Baked Whitefish
anything in the Sushi categorie
Like anything else it varies with the territory. Here it would be walleye, channel cat, bass, crappie, and fixed right there isn't anything wrong with carp.
Really fresh yellowfin tuna is very tasty. Fresh albacore tuna is pretty good. However, neither of these compare to really fresh bigeye tuna. :)

fresh baked halibut
shark
tuna
Walleye and perch caught by me.

2: redfish
3: flounder

1. Shark grilled....tuna raw....and TILAPIA baby, TILAPIA! any way I've had it that fish is TAY-STEE.
PS--the reason that sharks, skates and rays are sometimes not considered "fish" is that "fish" are typified by bony skeletons and to a lesser extent by most, scales.
Sharks have neither; their 'skeletons' being all cartilage except for the jaws and few other relatively minor bits.
Their skin is actually comprised of tiny protrusions that usually match their teeth in general structure and shape but not in size.

I hot smoke fresh salmon filets. I liberally cover the salmon with a mix consisting of of crushed garlic, butter, and dill (fresh dill is best - though dry works also) I also put red onion slices on the salmon and on a grill also coated with the garlic, butter and dill mixture. These are put into a smoker, and hot smoked with oak. The salmon and onions come out black, and wonderful!

Pretty much I love salmon fixed any way!
Flounder/Sole
Tuna
