View Full Version : Dehydrator jerky emergency.

My parents gave me air type dehydrator for Christmas. It is one a neighbor had but no instructions.

I have a Dehydrator cook book and have marinated my venison for several hours.

My question is what temperature should I cook them on? The cook book recommends lowest setting which would be 95 degrees for 6 -10 hours.

They are cut in inch strips if that might make a difference.

Quarter inch strips...145 degrees, for 6-8 hours. Strips should be pliable.

I agree. Strips should slightly crack when you bend them but not break.
