I am getting sick and tired of this British and German anti gun stands at the expense of travel safety. If they don't accept armed Pilots or Air Marshals, simple don't let em overfly or fly to the USA, ban them for 3 year periods until they brighten up.

The reality is that anti-gun propaganda has brainwashed these folks and that their position is baseless.

Many civil aviation pilots have air force or army backgrounds anyways and it is a no brainer for them to take a pistol along on a flight, nor do they fear guns... it is just anti-gun propaganda sponsored by always the same folks.

IIRC, the Brit Pilots Assoc is saying if it's too risky to fly without an armed guard on board, then perhaps the flight should be cancelled instead, and make sure everyone is safe that way. Anyway, this is apparently an issue only of foreign carriers, and I think that if they want to cancel flights for safety, fine. It's their $$ that is lost in the end from angry customers who miss other connections/lose hotel reservations etc, and thus never fly that airline again.

Their PC idiocy just may have created an opportunity for our american airlines to take up the slack with armed air marshals on every flight.

I wonder if they're sending out flyers to the terrorists about how easy it is to take over one of their planes. Then again CNN is pretty happy to promote the fact nobody on the plane is capable of protecting a 380,000 lb missile and they're not even charging them airtime.
