Wanting to start an Ohio Glockers club. We need at least 50 people so please make a post here if you are in ohio and want to join.

Cincinnati, Ohio

J Teezy,

I don't live in OH but do live right across the river from Ironton. So laws of yours affect me when I travel through your state, which is frequent. I also have an uncle in Cincy and friends in Columbus I visit often.

01-10-2004, 05:54
What exactly does an Ohio Glockers club do?

01-10-2004, 08:36
Sure, glockandme will join!:)

01-10-2004, 13:07
I'm in.

01-10-2004, 13:13
anyone from Tusc, Stark or Summit County areas?

J Teezy
01-10-2004, 16:56
Ohio Glockers will be a club added to the club list on here, just like 40 S&W, niners, Big Dawgs, etc.

We need 50 people in order to get our forum.

This way we will also be able to plan shoots together if we want and all that jazz, talk about our new conceal carry and all that

01-10-2004, 17:22
I'm interested (and in Summit County).

01-10-2004, 21:18
I'm in stark

01-12-2004, 09:28
I'm not sure we need our own Ohio forum, but I'd certainly be interested in going to some shoots. I'm near the Cincinnati area, and I just joined the Miami Rifle and Pistol Club in Milford. Nice outdoor range with lots of spots to shoot.

if we have our own club forum it will be a lot easier to talk to fellow Ohioans. I belong to the Fairfield Sportmens Association. Its a great club run by the members. Only 70 dollars a year. It has 2 Skeet fields, a lot of trap fields, 300 yard rifle range, pistol range, plinking range, archery, and stocked fishing lake. Also has camp sites with electric outlets. It is open 365 days a year from 8 am to 11 pm. Its a great club.

01-12-2004, 16:38
Teezy, is that the same thing as the old Fairfield Fish & Game out by Pickerington/Baltimore?

J Teezy
01-12-2004, 20:14
Fairfield Sportsmen Association used to be in Fairfield. They moved years ago out to Blue Rock. Its off Blue Rock Road past the colerain exit on 275

01-14-2004, 10:07
i'm from Tusc.

Keep me informed how you like Traynors. If i decide to, I may this summer start at either stark tech or traynors.

Oh yeah, do both schools use the same facility for training???

I can't find it.

I am thinking the moderator moved that post here..to the "Clubhouse".

Nobody comes here unless they are a member of a club (I had hardly ever check in here).

I am available to shoot Wednesday afternoon if anyone is interested. I'm planning to go to Target World off Kemper Rd. in Cincinnati with my father-in-law. If you are interested in meeting us to do some shooting, email me at rnew@cinci.rr.com.

01-16-2004, 12:11
I will be at TArget World tonight at 745. Meeting my buddy who is also a glock owner there. We are shooting for a half hour or so. If anyone else is there i will be wearing a grey addidas polo shirt with some blue addidas warm up pants (my work attire, i am a soccer instructor). Dont be afraid to say hello. My name is Josh

We are currently at 21 people for the club. If you see someone from ohio, send them a PM and direct them to this thread for them to sign up

01-17-2004, 00:06
Hi, my name is J. Britt, I am a glockaholic.

Seriously though! I live in Columbus, Ohio and would like to be in your little club.

01-17-2004, 09:07
Don't leave me out!! Toledo area here....... Hooray for the new CCW!!!

01-17-2004, 11:03
J Teezy,

I think some of the comments made by the more cynical among us have some merit. A club forum dedicated to just us Buckeyes? Is it achievable, practical, and can it be maintained? What the heck...I'm in. As alluded to earlier, in for what?... Who knows. as Martha says, it may be a "good thing".

Let's just not forget that there's more to Ohio than the "Big Three" (Cincy, Columbus, Cleveland) when it comes to any get-togethers. Way down here in SE Ohio (Marietta), is the home of the Fort Harmar Rifle Club, , host of the 2003, and again in 2004, Glock "Buckeye State Ballistic Challenge"...and the 2003/2004 host of the IDPA State Championships, not to mention our antique military gun matches (read: FULL AUTOMATIC, guys!) held once in the spring, and again in the fall. Where else will $10 get you live trigger time of any and all!!! of what is on display, ranging from sub-guns all the way up through major caliber, vehicular mounted autos?

Out here in nowhere, we know how throw some SERIOUS lead downrange!

J Teezy
01-17-2004, 15:54
Thats why it will be an Ohio Glockers Thread not a Big 3 thread.

Our own club thread will allow us to communicate among ohio residents more easily. We can set up get together shoots all over the state. talk about state issues like the new CCW and anything else

01-17-2004, 22:00
count me in. when we meetin at target world.

J Teezy
01-17-2004, 22:26
my buddy and i were there last night

01-17-2004, 22:33
i need to check this site more often. if you want to hook up some time let me know, i am always lookin for somebody to go to the range. say how do you get in that fairfield club.

01-17-2004, 22:47
Suggest that our first meet be in a relatively "central" location, with Mo-Hotels nearby, preferably someplace where we can shoot with the least restrictions and have the most FUN! Let's get this started...say this spring, around April-ish? Any suggestions?

Ohio Smokey
01-17-2004, 23:03
I plan on going to Target World in Cincinnati this coming Wednesday in the late morning/early afternoon hours.

XD, to join you have to attend the monthly meeting which is the second sunday every month. You go there at about 1030 and you go in the trap building and pay 45 bucks, 35 is for NRA and 10 towards your dues. Then they put your name in the newsletter, and if no one has anything bad to say about you you are in the club within a month or so.

01-18-2004, 18:51
I'm game. Tuscarawas county, Stone Creek to be more precise.;f

dwt, which range do you own? Is it open to the public, or membership only? Thanks for any info you can provide me with.

01-25-2004, 09:23
''Taylorsparadise'' is the name.

Its a private range, public access available by invitation. The matches are open to the public.

E-Mail me at taylorsparadise@zippytech.com

01-27-2004, 18:41
DWT's Taylorsparadise runs a great match!!! Very accuracy base...GSSF'ers should love it. I do.

01-28-2004, 13:41
Add me to the list.

01-28-2004, 17:01
Add me and my girl.
Ok some people in Ohio just passed out. They think I would never shoot a Glock, much less own one(Both of us do),;P over a 1911.

Brian Dover
01-28-2004, 19:40
Can I be "governor" of the Buckeye Glockers? ;) FWIW, i've been to all 88 counties at one time or another...often to shoot a match or attend a gun show. Either way, count me in...

02-29-2004, 02:37
come on I know there's more ohio glockers here

J Teezy
03-09-2004, 00:54
whats going on my ohio glockers. I see we are still waiting on a few more people to join in.

Has anyone found any more information on the conceal carry class. I am signed up at two places to take the class when they start to offer it but have not heard anything yet.

03-09-2004, 04:06
I heard target world has classes for something like $150, but I didn't think that OPOTA had released the "training cirriculum" or a phamplet or whatever. I have no clue, I'm kinda hanging back waiting to see how all this is going to work, but I can't wait until its clear on what procedures have to be done and everything is fully in effect.

;c till then

J Teezy
03-09-2004, 14:43
yeah, i am signed up at Target World and at my gun club (FSA).

Another question, has anyone in the cincy area bought night sites. I am wondering if there is anywhere around here that can compare to glockmeister.com's price of 67 bucks for Meprolights installed.

Brian Dover
03-09-2004, 19:21
That sounds like a pretty decent deal to me. Short of someone at a gun show who's trying to sell off odds and ends at a discount, you'd likely have a tough time beating $67...

J Teezy
03-12-2004, 22:53
anyone going to the gun show at Sharonville Convention Center this saturday and sunday

03-13-2004, 00:24
I'll be there, Saturday Morning bright and early

J Teezy
03-13-2004, 16:39
any good deals. I am thinking of going tomorrow

03-25-2004, 08:07
Athens in SE Ohio. Add me on the list. ;f

03-25-2004, 09:05
^^^^ Glad to have ya aboard, just waiting for some more Ohioians. I know there are a lot on here. Im glad your all for it since your do $15 transfers, maybe some fellow Ohioians will see that and boost some business for ya and help avoid some of the pains associated with a gun shop. Now if I could only find a guy in SW Ohio so I could avoid the stores.

03-25-2004, 09:28

DAYTON OHIO 3-27 & 3-28

Any of you guys going to the show this weekend?

I'll be there Saturday morning, hopefully to pickup some AR goodies and possibly some ammo. I might bring a Bushy to put on the market, 20'A3 in great condition $650, I've got my eye on a new toy.

03-29-2004, 16:46
Count me in (Columbus)

03-31-2004, 09:28
So do we get our forum now or what? This thread is months old ;g

04-01-2004, 23:06
Anybody here make it to the Fort Harmar IDPA match this past Sunday, in Marietta?

04-02-2004, 04:23
Were still at 41. There are plenty of Ohio Glockers here, if you look through postings you'll see several hundred. Glocktalk now has 31k+ members. But I guess they dont like the idea of a separate Ohio forum.

04-02-2004, 08:59
sure count me in

04-02-2004, 09:01

who wants #43?

J Teezy
04-03-2004, 00:20

J Teezy
04-03-2004, 00:22
jlw, we need to meet up sometime. I want to shoot that AR15. What round does it shoot? a 223? If so i could take you out to my gun club (Fairfield Sportsmen Association) and we could shoot it there. We can even get the glock barrels dirty also and shoot some skeet or trap if you have a shotgun. You can use mine if you dont

04-03-2004, 04:07
Yeah its a .223 and I've got 1400 rounds that are waiting to go down the tube.

I've got a case of clays thats been sitting around all winter.

jlw_84 i sent PM's to the forum leaders. I requested that myself and you be set as the moderators for it. Do you want to moderate with me?

also, everyone's club number will be the number in which they are listed on my list on page 4. This is the order that everyone said when they wanted to be added.

04-05-2004, 02:23
who hoo Im excited

Go Ohio Glockers ! ! ;e

04-11-2004, 19:09
You can add me to the list as well......also anyone traveling on US62 south of Hillsboro, Ohio in New Market..The Ameristop Foodmart has a 'NO Concealed Carry' sign inside the door after you walk in. It is not visible to the public until after you walk in and look over to the left.

Also, Town & Country in Hillsboro, Ohio has pulled down there 'NO Concealed Carry' sign in the windows :)....I asked them why they pulled it down and they said, already we have started losing business and no one has a permit yet...LOL

05-07-2004, 23:24
I think this is a great idea and count me in from Columbus, Ohio, Franklin County

Count me in, what do I have to do? Live in the Summit of counties.

11-02-2008, 22:02
Late to the Party.....:whistling:

I'm in as well!!

For great resources, check out Ohioans for Concealed Carry (see sig. line).

I'm in Columbiana County. I'm also the PR Officer for The Salem Hunting Club (see sig. line).
We're a pretty active club during the better weather months. We find ways to keep busy in the Winter too so check out our monthly calendars.
The public is invited to attend scheduled events.

I run a Concealed Carry Shoot. It's loosely based on IDPA. 3rd/5th Thurs. of the month @ 6pm.
Dress for the weather!
