I recently read about a guy who did a study on international law and found there are still good countries (obviously Iraq, Libya, etc. are not what we're talking about here) that still allow the little guy access to full-auto weaponry.
Pretty much all Nordic countries do (Sweden, Norway, Finland) as well as was mentioned Crete (Greece). I seem to recall coming across some other board that had a guy from Finland that was a big firearms buff. Anyway if I remember correctly, he stated that in Finland one does have to jump through some hoops, like have some kind of collector's license or whatever, but after a wait period you can get your new machine gun. He proudly posted pictures of a Minimi he had just acquired. Lucky SOBs. ;f
I wonder if there's a way to score a dual passport from one of those countries...?
In this countries, its considered RUDE to not shoot with a can at the range. And you can buy cans next to you're loaf of bread, the way it should be here.
Here in Finland it is possible to get licences for FA:
First:
- all guns are registered in a nationwide database.
- you must have a valid reason to own a gun (hunting, collection, work, sport)
- Full autos are considered as "very dangerous" firearms (as are breech loading cannons and mortars and rocket launch systems, funny that those are mentioned on the application form!!)
- Reasons for FA are collecting and for work
- Collector status must be obtained - special test protocol
- Even then you can get your collecting licence with a marking "all of ´the above but no full-autos"
- It is hard but possible. Sometimes you must buy a truckload of old bolt actions to get first FA....

Im taking a shot in the dark, but id say Afganistan might be one..;f
Im sorry to say that owning firearms, and especially full auto ones is becoming increasingly difficult here in Norway. In part due to our *******ed up goverment, but also the poor understaning of the Norwegian gun laws by the diffrent police stations. But if you can devote a lot of time (and money) to your hobby and have good understanding of the gun laws it is still possible to enjoy this great hobby :)
12.7,
Sorry to hear about the new laws in Norway..a NOrse fellow from another board made a quick mention to this.
Seems to me that an international anti-gun conspiracy has been going on for a while.
Brazil's just got some new laws to (thanks, in part, to money given by England and even some US organizations to anti-gun lobbying groups here) and I read a few months ago that they are trying to create new guns in Switzerland too (where, i guess, you are supposed to have a FA weapon at home) ;Q

Is Switzerland the only country left with some sense?

Dominican Republic... tropical paradise and any gun you want. Carry permits too.
I plan to retire there.
Caymans are gun friendly. At least for pistols. I didn't think to ask about Suppressors or Full auto.
Aruba is not gun friendly at ALL!!
