View Full Version : would it be bad to use 14+1 rounds in a pre ban..
mag for competition?
it take's the 14th real well and still could take another if I pushed it like I have to do with the 10 rounders.
it would be nice to have 15 rounds for some of the stages.
would it hurt the spring for when I would use it as a second mag for carry with 13 rounds?

You are refering to a "standard" cap G21 Mag? It is supposed to be 13 round mag... ;f I wonder if the mags are simply worn and thus you get the extra round...
I would worry about the last couple of rounds. How well does the mag support just one round? Does your gun reliably chamber the last few rounds in the mag? I would love it if my G21 mags reliably held 14 or 15 rounds! ;f ;a

Maybe its a kimber.
Tis a Glock 30 with 21 mags.
seems to feed just fine...
I might make a note that the 15th does not fit, almost could, but it would be too forced in and prolly lock the mag up.
As stated in another thread, this is more common with the referred to "non drop free mags" as they only have a metal lining one 3 sides as opposed to all 4 sides on the drop free. On the 3 sided lined mags, the 4th side is plastic and will usually give enough to allow an extra round to be shoved in.
So tis that bad?
if it the plastic giving? I'm betting it's more the spring though.
so would it be bad for it to be in there for 10-15 min before a course of fire?

Glock specifically warns against using more than the number of rounds for which the mag was designed. It'll ruin the spring.

why not just add one of the +2 extensions?
