Multi-G 11-22-2005, 16:17 Edpmedic, Can you tell us a story about the Oly? edpmedic 11-23-2005, 08:30 Can you tell us a story about the Oly? Well once upon a time there was a Company called Olympic Arms. Olympic Arms was a very friendly Gun Mfg who said to the Boss. You know I think people would love to have an AR15 in the size of a pistol. Therefore, off to the drawing boards they went. Now AR pistols were being made, but they wanted to do it without the buffer tube. Also since of the STUPID gun laws there was a limit on the weight of the reciever. What they came up with was the OA-98 which is the one I have. They also came up with another one called the OA-93 which has a free float tube and a flash suppressor or brake. They are loud and give you a warm feeling from the blast. I find the recoil is very manageable and with the Eotec pretty accurate out to 100yds. I do not go blasting 100 rounds through the C-Mag due to not wanting to have a barrel melt or they say might cause a cook off in the chamber. I bought it through a person at AR15.com and have had it for about 3 yrs now. I would like to put a free float tube on it along with a brake at some point. Other than that, I have had no FTF or FTE with it and love shooting it inside near people with big noisy rifles and pistols.. I like the Q-D mount on the electronic sight; looks like it would allow you to go back and forth between the dot sight and a scope with Q-D rings on the same riser rail. Slick. It still gives me a headache looking at pictures of those lefty rifles; my brain keeps telling me it's some kind of a Photoshop-job... ;) engineer151515 11-27-2005, 11:05 :) http://img399.imageshack.us/img399/5682/ar15sisters5if.jpg Cowboy Troy 11-27-2005, 11:28 One of mine! I may be wrong, but I believe there were some of those that were made before 9-13-94. edpmedic 12-20-2005, 17:50 Yes it is. That is a Pre Ban C-Mag that cost me almost $500.00 at the time about 4 yrs ago. I put it on to keep the rifle straight to take a picture. Yes it does work ahen you shoot it and makes a good rest to hod the rifle when you fire it. I am going to be putting a reil on the bottom for a bipod and take the carry handle off. Then put a reil on the top for BUIS, front sight and a optic. I might cut some holes in the side to allo heat to escape. That sucker gets hot real fast when you put a couple of mags through it. CaptToyota 12-20-2005, 20:55 How about 9mm suppressed ? DJ Niner 02-11-2006, 02:29 Folks, I'm going to close this thread because of its length, as threads with multiple pages cause increased demand on the servers. There is another, smaller, and more recent pic thread running, and I'll mark that one as the primary for now. I'll leave this one here for reference, but all new additions should go in the new thread. Thanks! vBulletin® v3.7.3, Copyright ©2000-2008, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd. | ![]() |
