View Full Version : RR Varminter 24"
Anybody prefer this over a bushy or a bolt action for hunting or puttin holes in paper.

I have one and have to say, it has an overall higher quality feel than the Bushy. No knock on Bushmaster, I have a couple of those also, but the RRA guns are just that little bit better. They are finished nicer, fit better, and when it comes to accuracy, I can wrangle better shots out of the RRA.
As for a bolt action comparison, I have limited time with a bolt .223, but I have spent some trigger time with a Remington LTR in .223. Both rifles will shoot sub moa groups, so It's a toss up for me.
The AR does have the instant follow up shot available, the bolt action is a slimmer package, height wise.

I have a 18" RR varmint and i love it .
It shoots better than my LTR
I have gotten sub 1" groups at 300 meters with black hills 68 grain with it. However it averages around 1 3/4 to 2" at that distance
How does that 18" Varmint (bull barrel I assume) balance? Is it heavy to shoot from a standing position?

It shoots from a standing position quite well in fact i have thrown the dot on it and used it for a couple of 3 gun matches
