I would like to check up what you people pay for your AR ammo.
I bought a box with 140 rounds 55 grs Sellier & Bellot ammo. They are copper jacketed, but they still respond to a magnet, so I guess they are steel inside.
The price I paid was 50 euros = $62.50 :(
It MUST be possible to find a cheaper solution, any ideas?

We can get Winchester Value Pack .223 55gr for $7.50 for 40 rounds over here. We can get military type ammo(Q3131A/M193) for $150-$200 for a 1000 rounds. We can get Wolf steel cased ammo for around $100 for a 1000 rounds.
Are you interested in ordering some ammo from the U.S.?
If so, you can get Federal XM193 for $74.75 for 500 rounds. They will ship internationally, but I don't know how much it would be for shipping. They won't take international credit cards, only certified funds or wire transfer. http://www.dealerease.net/catalog/product.asp?pid=1008658&ret_id=373508

Well the XM193 is definitely good ammo. I don't know anything about the Sellier & Bellot you bought, so I don't know how it compares.
Shoot them an email and see how much it would cost for shipping. Even if the shipping is $100, it will still be cheaper than what you would pay for 500 rounds. Will you have to pay any fees or taxes to bring it into Finland?

Hmm... I will probably have to pay 22% sales tax when importing from a non-EU country. (Same as with my imported Bushy).
But I still think it will be cheaper than buying here, so I have just sent them an email. A have a friend who also bought a Patrolman's Carbine from the US, so if we were to order a larger shipment of ammo together we could probably save some $$$.
I have a feeling that my 140 round box won't last long, when I get my rifle next week. It's due for shipping (Global Express) today

Yeah, if you can afford it, I would get together with your friend and order a few thousand rounds so you don't have to make so many orders.
If you're like me, the first time I shot my AR...120 rounds lasted me about 2 hours. And I was taking it slow ;f

The answer I got:
Sorry, we can not ship ammunition overseas.
Thank you!

Sorry about that. On their website, they say they ship internationally. I guess that doesn't apply to ammo :(
