Just trying to get an idea of what you guys here own. I have a Bushmaster A3 with 16" barrel, Aimpoint CompM2, and an ARMS #40 BUIS for my setup.

What kind, or brand do you guys have?;e

Currently 4 Colts, two complete RRAs and a few other RRA builds in various stages of completion.

In addition to the above I've had a DPMS, an Olympic, and a Bushmaster.

Here's a recent pic of my Colt M4:

I got the one that everyone says is useless.
The one that is a waste of money.
The one that everone wants to shoot when they see it at the range.
The one that makes every single shooter smile, like they've just been let in on a dirty little secret.......

I think your rig is pretty slick-not useless at all and I'd love to have one :)

With the right ammo you can get decent terminal performance even out of a short barrel.

Any reccomendations on ammo?
All I've ever shot is Wolf out of it.
I make a 14" steel plate ring nonstop at 100 yards.
It satisafies me.
But I'd be interested in some hotter ammo, just to see what it feels like.

1 pre-ban SGW lower with Bushmaster internals, CMMG/DPMS M4 barrel, Colt bolt & carrier, Vltor stock, KAC MRE, EOTech 551 & a LMT rear BUIS.

1 post-ban Colt M4 6400c

1 pre-ban Bushmaster in XM177E2 configuration (my favorite)

1 post-ban M16A4 USMC replica: Eagle Arms lower, RRA internals, RRA upper, Colt 1:7 twist 20" barrel, RRA bolt & carrier, KAC M5 RAS & Cavalry Arms C1 buttstock

1 stripped Bushmaster lower

2 stripped Mega lowers

2 stripped Eagle Arms lower

And I recently received my other pre-ban SGW lower from Olympic Arms where they remanufactured it. This will be outfitted with a M93A Magpul stock, Colt internals, Colt bolt & carrier, Aimpoint, ARMS #40, and either of the following: LMT M4 14.5" upper or a Daniel Defense midlength upper. I'm waiting until after the Shot Show to make my decision ;)

If you can find the IMI M855 ammo jump on it! I believe it's 62gr and can usually be had for $189 per 1200 rounds. It's nice and hot ;) However, I generally shoot Winchester Q3131A because my local shop stocks it.

Bushmaster XM15 E2S, A2, 24" H-bar, pre ban.

I don't think Bushmaster makes that exact configeration any more. It wasn't a planned purchase. I got it just before the AWB passed. I just grabed it off the shelf before there were no more left. I have not really used it much but I hope to do more varmint hunting with it. Need to get a good scope. I picked up a Mak 90 and a Russian sks the same way. As many hi cap mags as I could afford to.

For better or worse..... I got them before Bill Clinton said I couldn't have them any more........

Armalite M-15 National Match. You know, the "hot-rodded target" type. 1/2x1/4 rear sight, stainless steel match barrel, free-float tube under the handguards, 4.5# 2-stage trigger, weighs about 15 pounds with the lead ingots, will shoot sub-MOA to 300+ yards. Just my kind of rifle.

Of course I want some kind of carbine and an AR-10 as well, but that's later.

Great rifles, the both of them.

I own two bushy M4's. I would like to own a RRA but I guess I will stick to Bushmaster since I already have two.

I wouldn't buy a Colt, not because they are bad rifles but because of all the PC bullcrap they have pulled throughout the years like the different sized fire control stuff, the milled bayo lug, the non standard sized push pins, the sear block etc. Keep in mind that they did all of this stuff before they were required to by law.

If they came out with a new M4 rifle after Sept. with all the mil spec stuff (including bayo lug) then I would buy one but I doubt they will ever make such a rifle.

Sigh...

Colt is a defense contractor, and consequently a large portion of their revenue comes from Uncle Sam. This is both a blessing and a curse since the gov can hold your DoD contract over your head unless you toe the line.

The gov threw the term "readily convertible" at Colt and told them to make their civilian ARs harder to convert, or risk losing their DoD contract.

Why weren't the cloners subjected to the same rules? Because the gov didn't have a DoD contract to take away...

It will be interesting to see what happens to RRA once a large portion of their business comes from the Fed.

Sweet!
I have been unable to check out GT much for the last year or so, (went and had twins) so this is the first time I have noticed this forum. I have a Pre Ban Colt Comp H-BAR and a Pre Ban M-4gery built on a PWA lower, Bushy upper, some of the guts are DPMS and some are of indeterminate origin, swan sleeve and a cheapo BSA red dot on top. I am hoping to loose the BSA for a Comp M before too long.
