Tried Breyers Ice Cream last night for the first time ever. Want to know what I thought of it? Huh, well do you? Breyers is the nastiest crap I have ever eatin. You wanna know something else? Huh, well do you? I would sooner eat a thousand lb mixture of dawg, cat, horse, cow, chicken, and rabbit crap mixed with goat, elk, moose, and tiger piss, then eat 1 teaspoon of Breyers Ice Cream. That is what I think of that crap. What do you all think of that?;0 ;0 ;0 ;0 ;m

Would you let us know what this mixture tastes like? And where do you get tiger piss locally?

Okie-
Not sure what kind of Ice Cream you usually eat, but if it is Blue Bell you have been horribly spoiled. I've been all over and Blue Bell is the best commercially made Ice Cream PERIOD! And yes Dreyer's does taste like crap when you have rabbit droppings as a topping. :)

He said BREYERS, not Dreyers. Big difference. Breyers sucks. Dryers is ok, but not the best either.

(I wonder how long before this gets moved to the Food forum?)

Breyers is OK but it melts too fast. The all- artificial stuff you get is actually rally good when it's somewhat new, but it gets too hard too fast.

Haagen--daas---or however you spell it---its great ice-cream--and its also made in the USA!!

My favorite is Wally World peanut butter fudge (or something close to that).

Never really cared for Breyers either.

I really used to like Breyer's and switched to Breyer's Light Vanilla which is sort of grainy. That's OK, because the texture reminds me of Italian gelato.

Last week I bought a quart of Breyer's Light Vanilla and found it very much lacking in flavor. While not as revolting as Okie claims it to be ;f it wasn't that great.

I don't think any supermarkets here carry Blue Bell, but we do have Mayfield, which is very good.

Screw that...eating "low fat" and "low carb" ice cream. Ice cream is supposed to be SWEET...and FAT-LADEN. Otherwise it's tiger piss, right Okie? ;)

Going to Costco and buying their Kirkland (house brand) ice cream.

It only comes in vanilla but it makes most of the others seem lite.

Its a LONG WAY to go, however, if your ever in Paris, the BEST ICE CREAM IN THE WORLD is Berthillions. Nothing better...The Frog's actually got something right.

Guys, buy a machine and make your own! I made some rum raisin a while back that would drop you after 1 bowl  The newer machines don't need rock salt or any of that stuff. They double as nice frozen margarita makers as well!!

I have used my new stlye ice cream maker to make slushies too. Just use Coke, Pepsi, Mtn Dew, Hawaiian Punch or anything of that nature you like that is chilled and let it go for awhile. Never tried it with Kool-Aid or fruit juices, but it would probably work for that too.

The machines I have seen which don't need rock salt only make pint or so of ice cream. ;Q I like to make ice cream when I have BBQs and have a bunch of people around; standard ice cream makers serve me quite well, though I would not mind having another option.

We'll have to agree to disagree about Breyers. You might think the other stuff tastes better (aside from Haagen Daas, I haven't found better in the supermarket) but you might want to read the labels on what you're eating, and what you're putting down.

Milk, Cream, Vanilla Beans, and Sugar are the only ingedients in Breyers Vanilla. Other brand have a much, MUCH Longer list of ingredients, usually containing I've never heard of, or would rather not be eating.

YMMV. ;f

I must show my age 'cause nothing is better than HOMEMADE vanilla ice cream. When we were kids, we were the ones that got to turn the crank. When we got an electric motor for the crank, we made even more ice cream. Every Thanksgiving we turned out a few gallons of cranberry sherbet, too.^7 ^5
