What's the concencus here? I'm not sure if I want a magnified one or not. Who has experience with these scopes on their AR-15? Thanks...

I'd have to say get the M2 because of the NV capability! But for the best dollar value you can't go wrong with the ML2.

I have the Comp M version with a 10MOA dot. Nice, rugged, reliable. I also added a Kill Flash to get rid of that stupid optics coating glare.

So where would I mount a Comp ML2 on an A2 reciever? Got any pictures?

You can get the Aimpoint or the A.R.M.S. "gooseneck" type mount. Very reliable and holds a mounting/re-mount zero. You could go the $30 route and get the cheap, POS aluminum Leaper's "gooseneck" mout. Or, you could get a Colt or A.R.M.S. A2 carry handle mount. I have used both and both held zero.

When it comes to mounts, you get what you pay for.

Thanks guys. Went shoot'n after work yesterday with 2 guys I work with and took that. One said "now that's a bad little joker" and the other put a big a*s smile on his face when he saw it.

As a matter of fact, one of them is thinking of buying a ML2 to put on his 44mag. now.

Is the front sight a nuisance without magification? I have an AR with a 10x scope and the front sight is not seen. Currently I am building another rifle (A3)and plan to use either Eotech or Aimpoint, would it be a good idea to get a removable front sight or a folder?

Actually, the front sight is a good thing in most cases so you can cowitness your iron sights with your red dot. Meaning, you can still use your iron sights through your Aimpoint, in case the electronic scope fails. The red dot sits on top of the front sight post.

Here is a pic looking through an EOTech with an ARMS #40 rear sight. The pic is taken looking through the rear ghost ring. The dot is sitting on top of the front sight post:
**EDIT** Oops, link didn't work. Here's another pic:
