I've got a basic Bushmaster A2 frame, can I get different uppers and exchange them on the same frame? Is this legal? What do you know about this subject???

What do you know about this subject??? tpiini 02-02-2004, 20:40 I've switched uppers on several of my Bushmasters several times. The only legal restriction is that you can't put scary-looking uppers on post-ban lowers. CJan_NH 02-02-2004, 21:25 I switch uppers all the time on my ARs and it's perfectly legal (and safe) with a few caveats: -You cannot legally install a preban upper on a postban lower. -You can legally install a postban upper on a preban lower. -If you have a large pin Colt upper/lower and want to install it on a small pin upper/lower you will need an adapter My preban 6601 Colt HBARs have the nicest triggers of all of my ARs. For this reason I use these lowers more than the others. Frequently I go to the range with one of these lowers attached to a 16" CAR or M4 upper. Here is a pic of my four Colts-I mix and match the uppers all the time :) http://home.comcast.net/~cjan99999/Colts.JPG The M4 carbine (second from bottom) is a postban so I can't mount anything but a postban upper on that lower. Aside from that though anything goes ;) Alldowntheline 02-02-2004, 21:34 Sounds good! vBulletin® v3.7.3, Copyright ©2000-2010, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd. | ![]() |
