I want an AK47

to hang on the wall in my room. It doesn't even have to be functional because I have no use for it. How do I find out if it's even legal in my state?

I don't want to just go down to the local PD and ask, "Hey, I was wondering if it's legal for me to own an AK47..."

It is legal to own a semi auto ak here in IL

That doesnt seem right to leave an AK-47 hanging on the wall collecting dust. Its kinda like leaving a dog in a cage all day long.

If you just want something cheap get a SAR-1, but dont leave the poor thing just sitting there....you have to feed them once and a while.

Why again is it that you are in the Class III forum asking about a semi-auto AK anyways? I think I'd suggest maybe just putting a poster of an AK on your wall, your parents might appreciate that more anyways.
