View Full Version : Do I Need A 30??

I have a 21 and a 19. I carry them both depending on how I feel. I cannot say how much I like my 21. It is the best fitting, most accurate pistol I have EVER owned! It's just stupid how much I like this gun.
I also really like my 19 for the capacity and the size. However, I have been really thinking hard lately about trading it on a 30. I can't afford both, so I would have to trade.
My problem is the cost of ammo and the limited capacity of the 30. It is the same size as the 19 (maybe a hair wider, no big deal as I can easily conceal the 21) so that doesn't matter much. But 9mm is so dang cheap to shoot!
Anyway, I am really torn and not sure what I should do. If the 30 is what everyone says it is, I am really missing out, especially considering how much I love my 21. What should I do!?!

the g30 is an awsome all around pistol. i would not give up my g17 though. save the money or put the g30 on layaway, but dont get rid of your g19.

I don't see how anyone can not have a Glock 30.
"What should I do!?!"
If at all possible, keep the 19 and save for the 30 like the dickens!
But for me if it came down to it, I'd have the 30 over the 19 anyday.

Unless you have high caps for the 21, you might find yourself liking the 30 even more. Everything the 21 has (except accessory rails) in a smaller package.
well it depends. can you carry where you live? do you carry now or do you plan on it in the future? if you plan on or do carry i would trade the 21 for a 30 and keep the 19 but that is just me. my 30 is favorite gun out of all the ones i own. i carry it daily and wouldnt trade anything for it. if you can wait do as polo said keep the 19 and 21 and start saving for the 30. it will be the best move you ever make on your gun buying journey;)

Hehe tooth pulling is right!
Yeah, I carry and I carry my 21 happily. I like the long sight radius, the size (I am a big guy) and the magazine capacity. I also am totally nuts for this gun. I would never get rid of it.
As for the 19, I carry it also, but don't like it as much as my 21. I think I will keep the 19 and maybe start scraping together pennies for a 30.

I have a Glock 17,27, and a 30. Since I acquired the 30 I haven't used the 17 or 27. Right away the 30 has become my favorite gun to carry. I would keep your other two Glocks and get a 30. You can never have to many Glocks.
Buy the G30 and take up reloading. I've done both, and I'm very happy. (I would not sell the G21--that's also a very good gun.) Contrary to popular belief, you CAN successfully reload for Glocks if you take care to use only jacketed bullets (no lead), and you're careful about not exceeding limits. You could also replace the stock barrel and then you could shoot anything...
Of Course you need a G30! :) I have NEVER regretted purchasing mine, it is my favorite gun now. However 9mm IS cheap to shoot, so the previously suggested course of action would probably be best. Keep both of your guns and save for the 30. But if you just HAVE to have a 30 now then keep in mind that if you get rid of the 19 then both of your guns will be of the same caliber thus saving you a little money by not having to purchase ammo for both. Best of luck to ya...

The G30 is nice ( I have one), but so is the G19 ( I do not have one ^2 ). I'd keep the G19 and also buy a G30.

I love my 30. And as mentioned above, the 30 is just as accurate as the 21. I also agree with the others that you shouldn't get rid of either one of your Glock's unless it is necessary. If I had to choose between the 21, and the 30, I would pick the 30.

The 30 is sweet beyond belief. Do whatever you have to to get one.
