I got the link to these from this forum but I think it was overlooked. It's a 102 gr. Golden Sabre @ 1700 fps. What are your thought's on this round? I have to try some, at least to plink with. From what I know, it's not gonna go deep but damn! HAS ANYONE TRIED IT? I'm going to order 100 rds. and see. It's reasonable I suppose. at $18.50/50 for new hollowpoint 357sig. I can't find any info on this bullet except from a 380, no 9mm or 357sig, which may be a signal in itself. www.cnccartridge.com. Thanks D.C. for bringing this to my attention. I'll let you know how it goes. If anything, it would be light to carry and explode on impact! Maybe good for HD? Why I look for a solution to DT's 135 @ 1600, I don't know. Never seen 357sig over 575 fpe.

I have no experience with the 102 grain GS, but I have loaded 88 and 90 grain JHP's in 357 SIG over Alliant's max recommended load. As I recall, my P239 was getting 1664 FPS.
They would not shoot through a can of beer from top to bottom!
I prefer heavier bullets. The lightweights like this might be fun to play around with some time, if I ever had time. Until then, I will save mine for my .380.
The SD on that load was 3. ;a

A bonded bullet, such as the GS, should penetrate and hold together better than a standard jacketed hollow point.I found a shop nearby that sells Golden Saber bullets for loading.Whatever it does in the target it will do it with 653 fpe.;f

here's a pic of the round.
This bullet is not bonded. It produces beautiful mushrooms from my Kel-Tec @ 950fps. At 2010fps from a 9X25 Dillon casing, a peice larger than 10gr. cannot be found when shot into water jugs or wet phonebooks! Also, I do not recommend loading ANY of the Golden Sabers into a bottle-necked cartridge case. They have the "driving band" , which works well in straight walled cases, but you are in seriuos danger of bullet setback due to decreased surface area in the .357 sig (or 9X25). Besides DoubleTap will have a 115gr. screamer out in the next few weeks anyway!

I guess the 380 Golden Saber bullet isn't bonded but should be better than most.I remember before any Golden Sabers were bonded Remington would not load a Golden Saber in 357 Sig because the 9mm Golden Saber gave more than the desired penetration at 357 Sig velocities.I get very high velocity from 100 grain Speer JHP with Accurate Arms number 5.I have some 102gr Golden Sabers now that I am going to try with the same powder.
