Does anyone have any experience with the 22lr shooting AK clones. I saw one at the gun show Sunday for 170.00 nib. Looked like it would be a blast to shoot.
Gee I wonder if .22 would even cycle the thing ??
I assume you mean something like this (http://www.gunsamerica.com/guns/976410881.htm) . I havent heard too much on these, either. As much as I like AKs, I would recommend getting AK pattern rifles in their appropriate calibers. Kinda neat in a .22, but needless in my opinion. I can think of better plinkers in .22, but as always, YMMV.:)

Ya Agrippa, that looks like it.
What other 22lr plinkers would you recommend in semi- auto?
Do you mean plinkers in a rifle particularly? The Ruger 10/22 seems to be well-loved. In a pistol I can whole heartedly recommend a Browning Buckmark. That and a 500 round brick of ammo is the definition of fun.

I was wanting a plinker in 22lr that appears to be an EVIL rifle for my grandson to shoot in the future. I may just go with a 22lr upper on an AR. I have a lever action that was mine when i was 10 with a scope, but I thought he might enjoy something like this more.

I'd recommend a ruger 10/22 for a rifle.
And a Ruger 22/45 for a pistol.
You may want to post this in the Rimfire Club.
