I don't believe no one has started a picture thread yet...so I'll do it!
It's not REALLY an AK, but I figure the AK mags make it close enough:

DUDE! I love the KTR. Definitely going to be the next good size purchase. Is that a 5.45? Looks like it from the mag. Can you tell us a little more about it? Accuracy, feel, weight..etc.

chevrofreak,
I'd be interested in hearing how well that set-up holds zero as you shoot it a bit. It's a nice-looking rig, and seems to be very practical as far as the sight height, etc.
If you're so inclined, shoot some cold groups, then heat'er up with a few full mags, and shoot a couple more groups; let us know what happens (in relation to holding zero AND group dispersion).
Eagerly awaiting the results...

chevrofreak, barrel heating is always going to change groupings.
I’ve had my UltiMAK on my MAK-90 for thousands of rounds now… no problems with zero.

It's based off of the Russian VEPR. Some of the special features include a Galil style thumb operated safety, Custom front gas block/sight and muzzle brake, and an A2 style rear peep sight with integral scope rail. The receiver cover (which the scope rail/peep sight is mounted on) has been stabilized so it doesn't move. Like all VEPR's, it's a little heavier than your typical AK, especially towards the muzzle end, but the overall accuracy and shootability of this gun is great. The synthetic stocks (the front has been shortened and both have been skeletonized) are very comfortable. The overall quality is outstanding. They are made by Kreb's Custom Guns (http://www.krebscustom.com). Mine is in the 7.62x39 caliber, but they are also available in 5.45.

I was able to choose between the one I bought and one like the one directly above; I chose the first one because it seemed a bit more "southpaw friendly".
And (remember, "beauty is in the eye of the beholder" and all that...) I didn't like the way that thumbhole stock looked.
Sorry. ;g ;f

You have to put the pics out on the web. There are some free servers out there that you can download your picture to. Then you right click on the picture you want and go to properties and highlight the url address. Then you simply use the picture code as in your url address pasted here, and the then end it with . Good Luck

tacfirejeg,
I have a MPA10 .45. I love it. I "fixed" mine up. The wire butt stock does not extend, (I cut the rails down to 1 1/2 to fit) nor does it fold open. I also put a side cock upper on it. How do like the 9mm version?

05-08-2004, 18:41
>Glockdude1,
I like the 9mm MPA-30 a lot. I picked it up NIB at a Raleigh gunshow for $300 out the door with 5 brand new 32rnd Sten mags, barrel extension, and 2 boxes of Remington LEO 115gr +p+ ammo. I have since acquired 3 50rnd sten mags. Much better quality than the Cobray M11 series. Your 45 looks sweet!!!
Glockdude1
05-08-2004, 19:29
I paid $350, new, from a dealer in north texas. It only came with 1 mag, top cock upper, and the barrel extension. I like the "look" of the "genuine imitation" suppressor I put on mine.........Whenever I take it to the range, It gets attention........
