With the silly AWB looking to die )do your part to ensure it!!!) I'd love to pick one up, especially if they hit pre-ban prices, @$700 IIRC.How much do y'all think AUG's will be going for?

I see them in the 3,000 to 4,000 dollar range today, depending on wear and accessories. Is Steyr going to be able to import new ones after September? How else would the price come down?

AUGs were banned by the '89 import ban and thus will not be effected by the '94 ban sunsetting. There has been a rumor spread about DSA producing the AUG domestically and I think that would have a dramatic and negative effect on pre-ban AUG prices.

It was my understanding that the AUG was banned in 1989 by temporary executive order, and that temporary ban was extended by the '94 AWB. Am I totally off there?

What ahout the USR?

disregard, I just reread the law. Any indication that DSA will start producing them?

Steyr is considering producing an AUG in the states. From what I understand, they are waiting to see what happens with the AWB before they decide anything.

I would want a semi-auto AUG long before I would want an AR-15. Customization be scorned, I want an AUG! Although it won't be the same without full-auto and the OH *****! trigger.

AUGs were banned in original configuration by the 1989 bill.

However, thumbhole stocked guns started to arrive sometime around 96 or 97 I believe. It wasn't long before Bill's executive order put a stop to those too.

The thumbhole stocked AUGs looked decent. However, they were still rare when being imported and cost around $1400 at the time.

Would have been a good investment...
