View Full Version : Ammoman ammo
I see that there is good deal on ammoman for speer +p ammo. I was wondering if anyone has fired these and what the opinion of it was. Seems like a fantastic deal, but I hear that its reclassified ammo or something like that. What does that mean? Has anyone fired it? Thanks

Bought it, used it, called speer, (1 in 100,000 failure rate unacceptable for LE). But great deal for us. Have 1000 rounds and have had no problems in the first 100, only the joy of shooting a great ammo.

Decided to tryout the reclassified Speer Gold Dots in 9mm +p from the AmmoMan; still available for $159.00 (delivered) per 1,000.
It's declassified ammo. It was originally intended for LE use but Speer had plating problems on some of the cases and those batches were declassified for general use. Great for range work especially if you shoot the same ammo for self defense. I wouldn't use it as my carry ammo. I've fired boxes of the stuff without issue. It's a great deal.
I ordered 500rds and have fired about 400 of it. No problems.

I thought the problem was with the primers?
Awhile back they had what Speer called a "cosmetic" problem. That may be the plating problem that CCV wrote about. Most that you see now have a primer problem in the batch.

FYI Only:
Spoke to Eric the Ammoman this morning and he said there are less than 100,000 rounds available. ;P This was before I ordered another 2,000 at $159 (per 1,000) delivered.
Yea, that is a good buy. I am almost out of
the last order I made to MiWall for the same
ammo. I never had any problems with the ammo and
sent all of it down range in many different
brands of 9mm machines.
They accepted my order for 2K rounds, so I guess
they still have some.
