Required reading.

Spelling and grammar errors abound, but the info is pricesless.

One of the least documented but most request pieces of information is how to sight a AK in. This tutorial will cover the basics on how to alter the sights to get the rifle to a combat zero used for a military rifle, however, this guide will not go into detail on how to get your rifle sighted perfectly in for a competition match because of the number of factors involved and the fact that every shooter shoots slightly different.

And to think I had to figure this out through trial and error. ;f

Good article.

Very simple, and complete. Thanks for the info. I will try to put it to use next trip to the range.

Did anyone else have trouble drifting the front sight right and left? I had to whack the hell out of mine before it would move.

Does this apply to the 5.45 as well?

I would have to say it must.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong. It happens a lot. ;f

Field (Barn) expedient front sight windage adjustment tool-
2 or 3 jaw gear puller. I used a scrap of flat stock to keep the puller from wearing a dimple into the side of the adjustment barrel/post thing. Better and more accurate than beating it with hammer and drift.

I was playing around with Normas Ballistic Calculator and find with a 25M zero range that puts the 5.45 back on at about 375M???

The only thing I am not sure of is using a ballistic coefficent of .5. Is that correct?
