View Full Version : What holster do you carry your M-Series in?
I use the High Noon Slide Guard (http://www.highnoonholsters.com/Product_Line/_Slide_Guard/_slide_guard.html) for a belt holster. I'm not terrible impressed with this holster. I feel the leather is too soft and it isn't a pancake holster. The leather being soft allows the gun to flop around a too much for me to conceal carry with and be comfortable.
I have purchased a YCS IWB on Outdoorbidur.com. Report to follow.
Blade-Tech has a nice selection as well and looks to be a future order in a month or so. I am leaning towards the UCH (http://www.blade-tech.com/frontend?command=ProductMatrix&iProductId=3043) and/or the Belt Holster (http://www.blade-tech.com/frontend?command=ProductMatrix&iProductId=4682&iSectionId=4364). Anybody using either one of these?
What other holster makers have a Steyr product and what do you think about the holster.
I got a Fist Basic for my S40, very nice guys, very good product.

Best to order through gunnersalley.com.

I bought a Bianchi minimalist 105. It is a great little OWB holster that was really tight at first, but with time it loosened up considerably.

Works well but I wish the clip was a little less obvious
Sorry for making a hijack attempt on your thread but I've been looking for a decent draw-holster for my M9 and it seems they are very hard to find. So.. could anyone point me where to look for a M9 made draw- or "tactical" holsters?
What I had in mind:

One guy at our club carries Glock in a holster like this, too bad Steyr is too wide to fit into it..

Try one for a USP. They are close in the width department.

www.highnoonholsters.com
they make lots of nice holsters for Steyrs
I had a "Tailgunner w/clip" and it was a nice IWB holster.
A couple years ago I had a pancake holster made for my M40 by Mark Waldon of Waldon Holsters (no longer in business).
I recently converted it to an IWB and thats what I carry in now.

It looks good, but I called them and they don't carry left handed ones...... Thanks for the heads up.
Theres a thread over on the Falfiles about steyrs and what holsters to use. There contact info for a few companies that make them, even for leftys.

The only G19 OWB holster I could get to fit the wider M9 was my leather Bianchi Minimalist (after burnishing the slide edges from working the tight-fitting M9).
I am still holding the shooting trials on the M9 vs. the G19. If the M9 replaces the G19 as BUG, then I will have to find an IWB (I could not make the M9 fit the Sparks Mini Max and did not want to force it).
When I get my M-series (still don't have the money), I intend to go to Predator holsters in Mesa, AZ (right near Glockmeister) and have him make an IWB (Kydex) for me. I like the Predator IWB for my G19, FWIW. Predator can make one for any gun you bring him in about an hour. Can't beat that!

I highly reccommend www.haugenhandgunleather.com (http://www.haugenhandgunleather.com) I just recieved a Model 6 "Executive" for my SA-XD sub with the optional thumb break (no extra charge) in dark brown. It is gorgeous and the gun fits perfectly with no break in needed. $64.95 plus $6.00 shipping and handling. They list the Steyr M9 and M40 in models available. I will be ordering one for my M9. Sorry, no camera for pics.

I've probably mentioned this a handfull of times, but for you guys with S40s and S9s, Any holster made for an M will work with your S.
The controls line up to the same places in the holster, only difference is length of slide and length of grip (so you'll have about a half inch of air at the muzzle end).

Uncle Mike's G21/30 holster spread with longer rubber tubing and longer screws works fine as an inexpensive "games holster". It looks close enough to stock that I haven't had a problem with IDPA SOs.
(A foot of auto parts half inch OD neoprene gas line and a few inch long hardware screws will put the "queeks draws" on several Uncle Mike's holsters).

B27 I am curious to know what model your Bladetech holster was originally made for. I am been looking for a good kydex holster for my M40 for some time now. I can't seem to find Steyr holsters listed on their website so I am assuming it was for a differant gun. Thanks
SR-
Just scroll through the list looking for Steyr.
They are not really in strict alphabetical order.:)
Right after the HK's.
