does anyone no if you can install a compensator on a sar-1,like the one that was on the original ak-47,my barrel is not threaded so could i spot weld it on with out messing up the integrity of the barrel,i seen the ones that are held on with a tiny screw but wasnt too impressed with it,it looked liked it would fall right off with limited use and i didnt want to risk drilling a hole in my barrel to hold the screw in securely, any pics or info would be highly appreciated

You have to go with the permanennt fixed approach. Other wise the brake will go down range eventually!!!

Here are some great AK smiths who will thread your barrel, weld the brake, and do all the installation.

great post, thats what i think im going to do,i would rather spend the money to have it done right than botch the job my self ...................thanks for the info;c ;c ;c
