Recently, the locking piece in my AUG/SA cracked on the front left side. This is the second time it has happened to me. The roll pin in the bolt for the ejector is directly underneath where the cracks have appeared.

The second replacement locking piece I just picked up is slightly different from the other two. The "fingers" that fit between the locking lugs on the bolt are longer than on the old ones, moving the portion that was cracking farther back from that roll pin location. Was this mod done because of the problem of the older design cracking? Anyone else have this happen to their AUG?

Just a quick question, in Canada, are AUGs given the hyper-evil-not-in-this-country status that they have here? How much does one go for?

Even more so. They are classed as a 12(4) prohibited weapon. There are only five firearms in this class. If you own one (or more) of these five, then you can buy others in the same class. Officially there were only 293 AUG/SA's registered when the law changed in the mid 90's (yea, right!). There is one for sale at a local shop, a black 20" that has an asking price of $2400 CDN (.73US on the dollar, you do the math). It has been sitting there for over 2 years now. I saw a green one go for $1000 CDN a year ago. The pool of people that can own them is very limited, so one can argue what they are actually worth.
