Went through the course last night for duty carry. My Steyr M9 performed flawlessly, if you don't count one dud round. Steyr performes especially well in rapid fire scenarios, where rapid target re-aquizition is the key. Accuracy was excellent too. I am in love! All the guys on the range were jealous, too. Just wanted to share the joy with the club.

Sweetest shooter with the best trigger I have ever fired out of the box.

Glad to hear it, DAIadvisor!

I love them as well. I got one in 357 SIG and then a second one in 357 SIG. My wife just got another in 357 SIG.

Man, I wish they made a 10mm and an S model in 357 SIG...

Steyrs are awesome guns!

Yeah, everyone else had Glocks. They were trying to figure out how I can place rapid fire rounds inside my target from about 50 feet away. Better design and lower bore axis might have something to do with it. :)

What agency do you work for that will allow you to carry your Steyr?

I work for Germantown Police Department in Ohio. Is there something wrong with Steyrs I should know about that would not make it a good duty weapon?

No, it's just that I got the impresion that police forces liked there officers to carry the same gun. At least that what it seems like around here.

Our department allows the officers to carry a weapon they choose. I personally think it's a good idea - I think you should be able to choose the weapon you carry. Steyr fits my hand alot better then Glock 17 I used to have. It also has features I prefer - loaded chamber indicator and safety built in. Steyr shoots smoother and more accurate. I will trade 3 more rounds for that any day. :)
