www.aimsurplus.com is having wasr10s on sale for 289 with 2 mags. Should I get one of those for my first ak47 or a arsenalinc.com type of one that cost considerably more. This will not be a safe queen. I will shoot it prolly only once a month or so.

That depends on whether you want to spray a lot of bullets in the general direction of your target for fun, or fire them accurately at your target for fun. (it depends which model you get from Arsenal though)

For a first time AK the WASR would be a good choice, that way you can spend more on ammo. The Arsenal guns, while not nearly as expensive as a VEPR from RobArm, are quite a bit higher quality than the WASR. If you want the ultimate AK then Krebs or RobArm is the way to go, but they cost 3-4x as much as the WASR will.

I was pretty tired when I wrote that so I may have sounded like a dumbass or something

Arsenal guns arent really known for their accuracy like the VEPR's are, they're more known for their craftsmanship. They have a really good fit and finish, and are very durable.

I still say that for a first AK the WASR would be a good choice. You dont have to worry about abusing them since they arent that expensive.

That is ok I didnt think you sounded like a dumbass. I am interested in the arsenal what would be a good model (I was looking at teh sam7-s) I Wish to get one that would last me a long time but is not extreamly expensive. My max for an ak would prolly be maybe $600? Where would be a good place to order one from that has them in stock. oh ya I bought that wasr10 from aim. :) I should have it monday. Now I need a good place to get some ammo and magazines plus a cleaning kit. I hear the one piece rod or a "boresnake" is a good way to clean. Any suggestions?

Take a look at the SSR-56-2 for a quality AK.

I just got a case of Sapsan 7.62x39 from AIM yesterday. Haven't fired any yet, but have read good things about it.

wasr10s are good to go. I liked my first one so much that I bought another one. These are great rifles and these things will dry up sooner or later so I would get what you want while you can.
