Hey guys, been a lurker on GlockTalk for a while and was glad to see a Steyr forum go up a little while ago.

Any news on the front rail adapter? Also, with that adapter do you think we can mount the Glock Light on it (seems to be one of the cheaper lights on the market)?

Also, is the break-in going to be very long (like having brass not eject properly)? I have 300 rounds of WWB, do you think that would be enough?

With many of the AR's barrel breakin is recommended. Any of you guys recommend doing any type of breakin for it?

The old M-series is being discontinued in favor of the new MA1-series. The new MA1 will have a stardard rail and some changes to the grip to make the Steyr more popular and standardized for existing accessories on the market. It's supposed to be available in late June of 2004.

As far as break in goes, a good 300rds should be adequate. As short as pistol barrels are, a breakin isn't necessary..........some would say rifle barrel breakin is a myth as well(just clean an oil after use). I do recommend cleaning and lubing your Steyr before you do any firing. As with any firearm, disassemble/assemble it a couple of times and take note of high friction areas.

I have 350 rounds in my M9 without cleaning. Will continue to 500 rounds to prove reliability and will consider it broken-in.

I emailed Phil up in Canada a few weeks ago. He is unsure of the delivery date at this time. Once he has a firm date on the adapters he is going to email me.

Any hopes of a group buy for the adapter?

We are working on it. I don't know that we are getting all that much of a discount but we had enough people on THR that wanted one that Phil said he would order them in for us.

I also contacted Sprinco about their recoil reduction systems that are also metal guide rods and he mentioned that one of his customers used a Glock model and it fit and worked. He said that he is going to try to get a hold of an M and S model to test this out on and see how reliable it works and to contact him back in a week.
