Finally got the can I ordered for my AUG. I have a 13.5" barrel for it, but have to wait for the SBR paperwork to come back. I filed it along with the Form 4, but they go to two seperate areas. Will post pics once completed. I might trade my M16 for a trigger pack for the AUG, but will probably wait to see if the Shrike becomes a reality first.

In my opinion if I had an AUG and I wanted a short barrel but with a suppressor, given the AUG's easy and amazing quick barrel change system, I would have a dedicated barrel and suppressor permanently welded together to meet the 16" requirement and just switch the whole barrel out. This would maybe save a lot of extra paperwork and hassle and $200.

Two reasons not to. First, I intend on tweaking it. I have been told that the AUG is hard to suppress, and I can see why. Even in the late afternoon, with a 16" barrel, the flame exiting the gas port is very visible, and it is probably going to get worse with a suppressor. With a 16" barrel, around 6 in the evening, I saw about 9" of flame when shooting in semi.
Which brings to second reason. I would like to eventually get a trigger group for it, and do not want to deal with legalities when removing the trigger pack, and am not going to marry the reciever with the trigger pack, so a 200 tax is not too bad.
Besides, this is not going to be the only suppressor for that gun, and I am using these suppressors for other weapons also. I have a M16 incoming, and will be using it for assorted .22s also.
