We just got our issue of American Rifleman which had a review of both the Glock 37 and the Springfield Armory GAP XP.
They liked it, the G 37 and the cartridge.
I've fondled it. It feels nice and right in a way the 21 and 30 don't quite get it with my hand. they're just a tad too big. I got a G36 but on based on the proposition that you really don't have too many Glocks until you start buying the same number in the OD this one has me real interested.
Any on shot it in IDPA? Or GSSF?
What the availability of the Ammo and cost?
Suzy
I just bought a G37 yesterday.;f I fired it side-by-side with my G21. Going back and forth between hands the G37 seems to have a tad less recoil using Winchester 230gr loads. Like you said Suzy, the grip is definately a better fit and I prefer it over the G21 grip. I've seen FMJ loads in 50rd boxes from $10-$13 from various sources and that is pretty darn cheap for a new cartridge. Once more manufacturers start producing it it'll will be cheaper than .45acp as it costs less to produce. It's easy to find it online and you can find it at most large gun-type stores. So far CCI Speer, Winchester, and Corbon make .45gap. Federal and American ammo are going to as well. Considering this cartridge has only been around for about 6 months, it is taking off almost as fast as the .40S&W did.
I've got some info at www.45gap.com
Pete, is there any hint of truth that the USMC is ordering, or thinking of ordering some G37s for testing? I saw an article that stated the USMC had ordered 10,000 G37s, but then the author corrected his error and wrote that the USMC didn't order any.
As far as I know, no official USMC order has been requested, although I've heard that Glock wants to make Glocks in the U.S. by end of year. If so, that could definitely open up some interesting marketing avenues.
Everybody, including antagonists, know that Glock pistols have been proven to perform well in all kinds of environments, that Glocks are exceptionally simple to maintain, that hundreds of millions of rounds are fired thru Glocks each year, and Glock is fighting hard to keep up with demand. Even the reported count of Glock kB!'s using factory ammo is very puny/miniscule compared to the actual high usage of Glocks on an annual basis --- all IMHO of course.
There are some folks who have used the G37 in competiton. If they see your question, maybe they'll respond. ;)
I've used my G37 in two GSSF matches so far. Bobby Carver used one in Master Stock at the Carrollton Texas GSSF and won the category with it. Actually had the best score for a stock pistol. There were at least a dozen G37 entries in Waldorf this past weekend. GSSF enters your name in a drawing for a new pistol for just using a G37 in GSSF competition--at each match. That's 30 give-aways this season. I won a certificate by just shooting my G37 at Richmond, VA last month.
DannyR,
I guess I was one of the 12 or so at Waldorf. I had only fired 50 rounds through mine before the GSSF shoot. I shot my 3rd best time ever with it,but no where near the pros.
I'm hoping the roughly 1 in 12 chance pays off.

Women's Outlook gave a different but equally glowing review of the G37. Stressing yet again how well it fit slightly smaller hands over the G21 in ACP.
Anyone here getting the feeling that I have a case of Glock lust for the G37?

Give into your urge........you won't regret it!;f I'm honestly toying with the idea of selling my G21 after I've had the taste of G37.;)

I'm looking forward to shooting one at Shreveport GSSF Oct. 23-24. Which means getting one by about Labor Day and putting a 1000 or 2 through it.
If not at Shreveport then in San Antonio

Oh boy, just about the time I think I have all the Glocks I need I read a thread like this and once again the bank card company will love me.
Plan on getting one in June. Give me time to shoot it before the GSSF match in July and August.
