I noticed when I went to install the striker spring on my G37 that the spring is double coiled on one side and not the other. Can any one tell me how the spring is installed so that it is correct?
Does the double coil go on the spring cups side or on the channel liner side?
I am not sure but I think it may make a difference and I may have had it wrong in my G27 after it's first cleaning because even though the striker channel was clean and dry I received four light primer strikes in two magazines. I took it apart and re-assembled but did not notice which way I installed the spring but have not had any problems since then. Thanks again

double coiled side goes to the rear of the firing pin according to the ptooma reference guide.
i thought the more coils one go to the front, to the spring cups?

Thanks guys
I got exactly what I was afraid of
It goes forward, it goes backward, ahhh it doesn't matter
LOL ;a
Since the Glock armourer says it doesn't matter I am going to go with the following logic which is how I wound up putting it back together anyway.
I have installed the double coils on the spring cups side. The double coils appear to provide more stabilization/containment for the spring cups. If I get light primer strikes again I will swap the spring around and see what happens.
But since I am the type of person that always has to ask why. If it doesn't matter? Why were the springs designed that way? Things that make you go hmmmm.
when i got my G21, i detail strip it, and i notice the more coils go to the forward, and then I got my G22, it's the same thing. Same thing on my G17. so i'll just follow the way glock install it from factory.
you do know there's a direction for the trigger spring right? ;f

I've swapped a lot of striker springs around (usually use Wolff) and I never paid any attention which way the spring was installed. I also don't have light strikes. Make sure that there's no lubricant or anything else in the striker channel. Sometimes, when one uses a Q-tip, one just pushes the gunk to the back of the channel. Best method I've found for cleaning out a striker channel is blasting it out with brake cleaner.
The GLOCK comes with the double coil on the spring cups. I keep the spring facing that way as it seems the spring cups undergo more stress.
In my last Glock Armorer recertification this topic came up.
It doesn't matter.;c
