Striker Plate Movement?

Take your M9/40 and lock the slide back. Now tug down on the striker plate. Do you get any movement?

I'm simply curious if this is indicative of all Steyr's or if I may have a problem.

If you are referring to the slide plate (part #42), yes -- there is a slight up and down play. If you retract the side plate pin (part #49), I believe you can slide out the side plate.

That part on my M-9 moves a little also.

That was indeed the part that I was referring to. Not sure why I was calling it otherwise.
