The Maadi has the traditional AK-style wooden furniture with the orange color. I believe the front sight has a top over the traditional U with a post.

The MAK-90 has plum colored lower furniture that appears to be wood on the bottom and plastic for the upper. The stock is a functional side-folding wire stock. The front sight is the traditional open top U with a post.

Both have a pistol grip and both are 7.62X39.

Which would you prefer and why?

Either or both may be for sale but I won't know until this coming Sunday.

I won't know the prices until Sunday. Assuming the price is the same for both riles, which will be the preferred weapon?

If you spend about $15oo(ish) for the maadi, get it. If not, get the norinco Mak-90 it is a great rifle, in ethier stamped or milled.

the MAK should be worth quite a bit more money

The owner of the Maadi and the MAK-90 is asking $300.00 for each rifle and each will come with two 30-round mags. Neither is a pre-ban rifle. Good buys or not?

Well - sounds like the Maadi would be the best bet. First and foremost you'd need to worry about the MAK90 being in an illegal configuration - not to mention that the wire stock isn't correct for any norinco/polytech. Just because the maadi's are somewhat more rare, I'd get it.

The Maadi is the closest to the original AK as they are built on equip bought from russia . I would get it ..........It will take hi cap mags and is aboyut the closet to the real deral that is out there . having said that if the MAk is a polytech legend then I would get it......

Both might be quite "rare" in the future. Buy'em both while you can.

I prefere MAK-90. They are very nice and straight. You can check the parts and verify that there are enough US parts to be legal for the P-Grip. I converted mine to P-grip and it is a fine rifle. I prefere MAK-90's over SAR's and Maadi's because of the quality.
