I recently bought three Steyrs: M 40 w/nite sights, M 9 w/triangle sts, and the S 40 w/triangle sights. The M 40 and M 9 run like trains on Mussolini's railroad. The S 40 does not shoot more than two rounds w/o jamming. I read the stuff on here about the extractor and went to the range this afternoon with tools and shot 80 rounds with the extractor chamfer in 3 different positions, it made no difference, every other fired cartridge case would jam up against the slide requiring removal of the magazine to clear the pistol. I also used 4 different magazines (2 were from the M 40). Pistol is new and has well under 150 rounds thru it ONE shot at a time!! Now I gotta spend 40 bucks to send it back to the warrantor in Waverly,Iowa and hope they can make it run. The two that work are fine shooters and have a couple advantages over my many SIGs and one Glock. Of course, the SIGs are nicer, but they cost twice as much!!;) ;Q

List the ammo used in the S40.

You did use several different kinds of ammunition, didn't you?

My S40, for example, does not fancy the CCI Blazers too much.
