Here is my M9, freshly qualified and ready for duty. Got about 500 rounds through it, not a single gun related problem. My M9 came with night sights and 4 14 rd. mags and was purchased from CDNN a while ago. I think I will buy another one very soon. It only ejected brass in my face about 3 times in the first 50 rounds or so, after that it goes sideways the way it should. (Break-In time) I absolutely love this gun, and would not want to carry anything else.

Marshfield MA police are issued Steyrs. Not sure if they are M9 or M40.

Very nice. I'm sure I speak for the rest of us Civilians when I say that I am very jealous of those full-capacity magazines. By the way, show us some pics of the shotgun that your M9 is resting on? Is it a SPAS 12?

I bet that 135 grain Power'R'Balls hurts on impact.

I avoided that by getting the .40 S&W version. Likewise, my Browning HiPower is .40, and holds 10 shots natively.

Ya, I would have gotten some M40 mags, but with the Assault Weapons ban so close to sunsetting, I'm hoping that I can get some full-capacity mags in Sept. If they don't release any to civilians for some reason, then I'll get some M40 mags. At this point, it's not worth tweaking the maglips and having any possible malfunctions just for an extra 2 rounds.

Oh, I never thought of that. I shoot them in an M40.

I am not sure it is legal to do that, BTW.

It's legal -- as long as you do not modify the magazine. I have an HK P7M13. Although I have two 13-round M13 magazines, I also have a P7M10 (.40 cal) mag that I can also use -- it will hold 13-rounds of 9mm. Because I am not altering the magazine in any way, it is still considered a legal 10-round .40 cal mag.

With that being said, I still rely upon the M13 mags for concealed carry.

I am carrying a P7M8 right now. I have an M13 and M10, but only fired them once. I shot great with the M10!

Yep, my P7 PSP is on my belt right now too....

IMHO, the best concealed carry full-size 9mm out there!

a little blurry and very big, don't know how to shrink the file. Anyway, sheriff has 14 of us carrying the Steyr for testing, will most likely replace Glocks with Styer's sometime at the end of the summer. The guns were bought commercially with night sites and 10rnd mags. LEOnly mags were purchased seprate from CDNN for $9.99 a piece. So far the pistol has been great, I will not miss the Glock this is replacing- and love the safety on the Styer. A BG will have a heck of a time figuring out how to work it should the gun be taken from me.

Only wish is the Steyr made a full sized "L" framed model for duty use, like the G17 or G22. I like the small size of the M Series,(Same as a G23) but somtimes a big ole duty gun is more appropriate.

I will try for a better pic, any tips would be appreciated.

There's sporadic rumors of an L-frame for .45 and 10mm.

I'd buy a .45 version in a heartbeat!

hartzpad: yeah, that's SPAS12 under my Steyr. The good thing about my PD is the fact that they allow us to carry what we want.
