View Full Version : S40 accessories anyone?
I recently acquired my S40 and was wondering what experiences anyone has had with finding accessories. I am looking for holsters, primarily, and was curious if anyone has been able to find holsters designed for other weapons that will accomodate the S40 (other than "generic fit" holsters). I haven't had any luck at all finding a dealer that sells holsters designed specifically for the S40. I know it is similar to the Glock 26, but does anyone know how close a match it is in terms of a molded holster?
Well I'm using Vega PA2 thigh-holster that is designed for Glock 17 and my Steyr M9 fits in perfectly. If you want to play safe, forget about the Kydex holsters designed for other pistols and go for a not-so-picky cordura. Id guess if you grabbed Vega which is made for Glock 26 you couldn't go all wrong.
Some leather HK USP holsters will work in a pinch.
Search through the Steyr and Non-Glock forums. You'll find several links.

Here's a holster Del Fatti (http://www.glocktalk.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=251216). His work is really classy and he has a 6 month backlog! Unfortunately for me it's made for an S not an M!
Bladetech makes holsters for Steyrs. I'm very happy with my Bladetech UCH.
Edit: I have an S-40 as well and asked for a 3.5" length holster but said I'd take an M-40 holster if they couldn't do that. I haven't gotten to check with my bud's M-40 yet, but it looks like mine was shortened down to S-40 size as per my request. Even if it wasn't, there's not any wasted space or added bulk -- I mean, I can't tell from casual visual inspection if it would even fit an M-frame.
I am the person that Matt Delfatti made the S40 holster for. He has since sent the left hand one . Let me tell you it fits my Steyr to a T. As this gun has been gaining popularity it is good to know that you do not have to settle for a generic holster. As far as I know this was Matt's first S40 holster and it is fabulous.
