Is that "new tradition" or its been around. I will remeber next year. Hopefuly it will get more national recognition.
Annual National Moment of Remembrance, initiated by "No Greater Love" in 1997 on Memorial Day: a campaign to put “memorial” back in Memorial Day. All Americans are asked to pause at 3 pm local time, wherever they may be, to honor those who died for our freedom. The National Moment of Remembrance was formally established by an act of Congress on December 28, 2000 and is now sponsored by the White House Commission on Remembrance. http://remember.gov/
No Greater Love (http://www.ngl.org/index.cfm) is the only humanitarian and non-partisan organization in the United States dedicated solely to providing annual programs of remembrance for families who lost loved ones in service to our country or by an act of terrorism.
