While I am generally very pleased with my SBS Pro Hunter, I haven't been able to come up with the right load for it yet. I have a Reminton 700, also chambered in .30-06, and after about 18 months of tinkering, I came up with a load for it that shoots sub-minute groups reliably.

So far, with my Steyr, I haven't been able to do any better than about a 3" group at 100 yards. I have been trying different bullets, seating depths, and a couple of different powders.

I know each individual rifle is different, but does anybody have a good load for a Pro-hunter in .30-06 that I can use as a reference point?

Thanks.

Since no one has responded I'll do the best I can...

I have an SBS in 25-06 but have just ordered a scope, dies, etc, so it will be 2 weeks or so before I shoot it.

I do have an old Model M Pro in 30-06. I have been using 53 grs of IMR 4350 w/ a 165 gr Nosler Ballistic Tip in WW cases. Seems to group about an inch, don't have exact numbers because I mainly shoot offhand and its not critical. But its nothing like 3".

If there's any similarity in the barrels perhaps this can be of help. Good luck.
