View Full Version : Utah Glockers Club

Is anyone interested in starting a Utah Glockers Club?

One out of every 43 Utahns carries a gun, so there should be enough of us out there to start one.

elpistolero
06-02-2004, 21:35
I'll start it off with the first vote. Now we only need 49 more.

mhambi
06-02-2004, 21:41
Make that 2.

And I'll take that club ## when it is created. :)

Hmm... I was wondering if we have enough votes for the club... It'd be nice to get some GT-shoots going in Utah!

I'll stick a little adverstisement in my Sig line.

Count me in! Elpistolero, as for a good gunsmith in Salt Lake, I've had pretty good experiences with Barlow's Custom Guns.

There are at least two Glock armorers at Rangemeasters in Springville where I go. Give them a call. They have done good stuff for my G36 and G19 (sold it awhile back).

Call and ask for Ken, he is there usually 12-8 M-F during the summer or Alex on the weekends. I think the number is something like 491-0909 but check it to be sure.

Good luck.

Porter.

elpistolero

4) hando
5) Spen84107
6) Panslayer
7) amsterdaman

czglock25

I vote yes also.
You guy's should come out and shoot USPSA with us. We got a lot a glockers there, from production to full race glocks. We shoot at the fruit height range on the 1st Sat. of the month. At the Henrickson range the 3rd Sat of the month and at the Logan range the 4th Sat of the month. Of corse there are other guns in these compititons, but it's alot of fun beating these guys with $3000 guns with a $500 Glock
If you have any questions E-mail me and I can get you started.

I wouldn't mind a Utah club. Maybe we could put some faces to the handles.

I concur with the folks that recommended Barlow's Custom Guns. Steve does amazing work. His custom 1911s are both visually stunning and exceptional functionally. He's doing a full house Nowlin for me right now.

I love shooting there, but don't have enough time or resources to get a membership. We usually go down near the lake.

The new lanes are great. I like the digital readout, and using the cordless phone.

According to the clubhouse sticky topics elpistolero now needs to contact sidearmor to get the official forum created. I PM'd him a while back but haven't heard a thing.

Anyone seen/know him? I'd like to get the UT chat going ASAP.

Even though the forum isn't official yet, no sense in not enjoying the benefits of it... so, here goes.

Halfninja,
How is that pm40? I've heard mixed reviews on the polymer series, but tons of people seem to like them, and they sure fit into a pocket nicely. Is the recoil fairly manageable for follow ups, and has reliabilty ever been an issue?
I Carry a stock XD-9, and love it, but it is just too bulky for pocket carry. I carried a P3AT for a while, but reliabilty was never "glock-esque". If I could find something in the middle, I'd be interested.
Thanks for the advice, and enjoy Utah. I wake up every morning and wish I were there (grumble, grumble, curse, @#!! school...)

Thanks
Aaron Stevens

I love the PM40, but yes it has had some issues. The first month I had it the followers in both the 5 rnd. and 6 rnd. mags basically disintegrated. They couldn't even keep the slide open after the mag emptied.

I've now got new followers and a free 6 rnd. mag from them, so I'm still a happy customer. If it happens again, then I'm thinking the slide and slide stop are the cause for the damage and I'll be more skeptical of the gun.

To shoot it's awesome. To carry, can't be beat. Recoil is a beast, that's for sure. It's every bit a mini-cannon, but with the Handall jr. on it helps immensely.

Would I buy it again. I think I would. As long as these followers don't fall apart. :)
