View Full Version : I need more .308 ammo!
My HK91 is hungry and I am down to only two thousand rounds, time to stock up! Where are the deals right now? Who has the best price for those of us that want to buy in quantity?

Great company to deal with. Not sure how good that price on .308 is though.

Mike, I have shot about 1 ton of this stuff...sweet, sweet ammo. AIM is good people, as is Dan at DansAmmo. Where you are though make sure you get a deal on shipping.

cheaper than dirt had some austrailian 7.2x51 in i belive 250 round battle packs for a good price they also had some spanish nato spec 7.62x51 for a good price too i bought 400 rounds of that and it shoots good in my cetme.
What you want is the 90s production Aussie 7.62x51 milsurp F4 ball. Comes in blister packs inside a wooden carton. $180 delivered for 800 rounds. Probably the best available right now. Berdan, non-corrosive, 144gr. The Aim Aussie stuff is good too, but it is 80s production in bandoleers in a 200rd ammo can. Blister pack better for long-term storage; wood crate better for shipping.

Ditto the Aussie. It shoots slightly better in my gun than the Port and it doesnt have the steel jacket that gets me introuble with the guys that own the steel targets.

160 rounds for $29. i was in there the other day and bought a box.
i have been shooting the portugese 308 thru my fal. it seems extremely accurate and clean.
the south african i also blast with is nice too, but not as accurate.
whatever you do stay away from that indian surplus stuff. it is total garbage. it comes in small plastic bags with 10 or 20 rds ea in it. several of the rounds were seated too deep, others were not seated deep enough. the worst round i found had a strange metallic rattle to it. it was not the normal powder rattle you can hear inside normal rounds. i pulled the bullet and found only a pinch of powder, a piece of some carpet like material and 2 additional primers.
i shudder to think what that could have done to my gun.
