Requests for clubs, even state clubs, still need to be made in the Clubhouse Office. I will move this thread there for you now. Let me know when you get to 50 and I'll set up the club for you. Good luck.

A happy Westchester County resident reporting in.
Why am I happy?
Because, on Nov 2, 2004 the liberal bias/propaganda machine was rejected by the majority of the Nation.
I'll be a happy for some time to come.
OH how sweet it is!

I hope the rest of you NYers feel the same way.

Right... and because manufacturers no longer have to distinguish between pre/post ban, and therefore have no markings on mags... how long before even formerly distinguished pre-bans are also illegal in this state? We gotta cut that pathetic city off. Do you realize that NY would be a red state if it weren't for the city? We gotta elect some folks to office in this state who are NOT pandering to the bleeding hearts in that city...

If he runs again, make sure that everyone you can think of votes for Tom Galisano for Gov. He's supported by both SCOPE and the NRA.

you can buy 'pre-ban' magazines (clips are for rifles) in NY. I have seen the market shift to where people in the states that have no AWB of their own are selling PRE ban mag's for 25 to 40 dollars and then buying the LEO/GOVT mags for 12-25 dollars. Not too bad of a deal.
You can also get PRE ban 'assault weapons' too. It's not like we are in CA or anything. lol

DepDuke,
Two purposes here, one... to give the thread a bump and see if we can get more in here (and so that it doesn't look like I'm completely hijacking the thread:))

Two... Yes, you can buy "pre-ban" (as in NY ban, not Federal ban as that label has no distinction any longer... hence my fear). My point is that how can you tell whether a magazine is pre-ban (fed.) or new production? Since manufacturers are no longer required to distinguish magazines as LEO or any other "pre/post ban" markings, how can a NYer tell which is which? The fear comes in that the dufus heads in Albany will figure this out and try to change the current law so that ALL >10 round mags are illegal... regardless of pre/post ban designation. Do all magazines come with a "manufactured on:" date? Obviously, the answer would be in getting someone(s) into Albany who knows what the heck is what and get the stupid state law repealed... but what's the possibility of that? :)

Dep Duke as you can tell from Tues nights some people have the mags
and need them some dont have and dont need them. But I will second the NY club...MURRAY

Good luck! Already talked to the "great minds" in Albany and, for all intensive purposes, they don't know either. The cops are calling it "an unenforceable law" at the moment... Best of my knowledge, you have to pick up the pre ban ('94) mags. Don't quote me though.

Anyway, Albany (for the moment, soon to be Scotia) is up for a club. I was thinking about putting something up on the board about a New York club anyway...

We the people must always keep in mind that a lack of information (ignorance) on the part of legislature has never slowed the writing and passing of laws.

Arrogance and ignorance, especially when mixed equal measure, make a truly fearsome brew.:(

Good point. Unfortunately, however, we the people are responsible for knowing the law better than the men and women who write them.

From what I can gather from other Glock Talkers, all NFML mags are pre ban, 2nd gen FML mags are preban, and 3rd Gen FML with the caliber designation in the center of the area between the top view holes and the notch is preban. On the 3rd gen post bans, the caliber designation is smaller and moved up to make room for the LEO crap. Obviously, all LEO mags are post ban and all new production mags are post ban. I'll try to find some pics for you.

Hope this helps.

Jonathan
